Who we are

Hallow is on a mission to help people pray. We’re the No. 1 prayer app in the world, with more than 1 billion prayers prayed across 150+ countries. We're building a product that is authentically Christian and Catholic, while at the same time a resource for anyone looking to grow deeper in a relationship with God. We believe that people are hungry for peace, and that there is no surer way to find it than by learning to sit in silence with Christ: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28).

Our goal is to build something truly great. Something that combines the beauty of the Church's spirituality with world-class product and content execution. And we need a world-class team to make it happen.

We launched the app in December 2018 and have been blown away with the incredible growth & traction. Hallow has been downloaded more than 30 million times with over 250,000 5-star reviews. We're blessed to be backed by some of the best mission-driven investors in the world and are excited to build out the team to help a lot more folks grow closer to God.

We are a startup. We move quickly. We are small but we take big swings. Each person is responsible for making an impact. It is hard—but deeply meaningful—work. We'd be honored & humbled if you'd consider joining us.
TL;DR: We’re looking for an Organic Growth & Communications Lead to take Hallow’s organic growth to the next level across SEO, AI search, PR, and communications. You’ll help make sure that when someone searches Google, reads a news story, or asks an AI assistant about prayer and faith, Hallow has the opportunity to meet them there and ultimately invite them into prayer.

What You'll Do
  • Own SEO & Organic Growth: You’ll own Hallow’s organic search efforts end-to-end from keyword research and technical SEO to writing, optimizing, publishing, linking, and measuring performance. You’ll identify our biggest opportunities and go after them yourself, pulling in cross-functional support where you need it..
  • Build for the Future of Search: You’ll help us figure out how Hallow reaches folks across AI search. You’ll experiment with GEO / AEO strategies, understand how Hallow is showing up in AI answers, and find new ways to increase our visibility and authority.
  • Find Stories in the Data: Some of our best organic opportunities come from finding a story nobody else has told yet. You’ll dig into data to uncover trends around prayer, faith, culture, and the Church and turn those insights into stories journalists and people want to read and share.
  • Create Great Content: You'll write a lot - evergreen SEO pages, press releases, journalist pitches, landing pages, and other marketing materials. You'll independently take each piece from a blank page to published.
  • Optimize & Experiment: You’ll constantly test new ideas. New article formats. New search strategies. New conversion opportunities. New PR angles. New ways to show up in AI search. You’ll measure what works, double down quickly, and move on when something doesn’t.
  • Work Across the Team: You’ll work closely with Marketing, Content, Design, Product, and Data to make sure our organic growth and communications efforts support Hallow’s biggest priorities.

What You'll Love
  • Mission: This work is incredibly humbling. Every day we hear amazing stories and we get the pleasure of working on something that’s impacting lives. One of our favorite user quotes: “I hate quoting an old, overused cliche, but I’ve been very lost. And I think for the first time in a while I may be found.”
  • Ownership: When a company is this small, every employee is a core team member with an outsized impact.  What you decide to publish, pitch, and optimize can bring thousands of new people into prayer.
  • Growth: From day 1, you’ll be a part of the startup journey.  You'll own and shape what organic growth and AI search look like for us as we grow.
  • Flexibility: HQ is in Chicago and we would love to have as many team members there as possible, but we are completely flexible on location within the United States.
  • Comp: We will pay competitive market rates in terms of equity, cash, & benefits.

What We're Looking For
  • Passion: First and foremost, we’re looking for someone excited and passionate about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun to actually care about what you’re working on!
  • Experience: You have 3+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, content marketing, PR/communications, or a combination of these areas. You’ve personally done the work, not just managed agencies or teams that did it for you.
  • SEO Expertise: You understand what makes content great and have hands-on experience with keyword research, on-page SEO, content optimization, internal linking, technical SEO, link building, analytics, and the tools that go along with them.
  • Excellent Writer: You can turn ideas and data into clear, compelling stories. You’re comfortable writing an SEO article, journalist pitch, press release, or landing page.
  • AI Curious: You’re excited about how AI is changing both search and the way marketers work. Experience with AEO or tools like n8n, Windmill, Claude Code, or other AI and automation platforms is a major plus, but not required.
  • Ownership Mindset: You don't need someone handing you a list of tasks or telling you what stories to write. You can identify what needs to happen, figure out how to do it, and execute. You’d rather try something, learn, and iterate than spend weeks building the perfect plan, and no task is beneath you - you’re willing to get into the weeds to something across the finish line.

Compensation Range
$100,000 to $140,000 USD per year

The above range only includes cash compensation. Each full-time employee in the U.S. also receives equity compensation, alongside a top-tier benefits package (e.g., unlimited PTO, insurance, remote-flexible work, fully paid parental leave, 401(k) match, and stipends for spiritual development, health & wellness, home-office, and learning).

The above range for cash compensation refers to base salary for a U.S.-based candidate. All full-time employees are also eligible to be considered for a discretionary bonus at the end of each fiscal year. These ranges are just initial estimates. They may vary depending on market or location and may be adjusted depending on the person we end up hiring for this role, their experience, and market dynamics.

We're a small team and we care deeply about each new hire, so sometimes it can take us a while to get through the hiring process for these roles. Apologies in advance for any delays. We'll do our best to keep you updated throughout the process, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through everything.

We are honored that you'd consider joining the team and look forward to connecting with you.

Best,

Alex at Hallow
