MetroSys is seeking an experienced OT/SCADA Deployment Engineer to support a large-scale rollout of the Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA platform across multiple industrial locations.
The consultant will work closely with the client's OT and architecture teams to deploy a standardized Ignition environment using established architecture, templates, configurations, and a client-developed "gold image." This role will focus primarily on implementation, site configuration, equipment connectivity, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning rather than developing the overall platform architecture.
Prior hands-on Ignition experience is highly desirable but not required. Candidates with a strong background in SCADA, industrial controls, PLCs, industrial automation, and OT environments who can quickly learn the client's standardized Ignition deployment model will be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy and configure standardized Ignition SCADA environments across multiple industrial sites.
- Install and configure Ignition components using client-provided architecture, templates, standards, and gold-image configurations.
- Configure site-specific SCADA settings and adapt standardized templates to individual plant requirements.
- Connect Ignition to PLCs, controllers, industrial equipment, databases, historians, and other OT systems.
- Configure and validate device connections, tags, communications, alarms, templates, and related SCADA components.
- Troubleshoot communication issues between SCADA servers, PLCs, field devices, networks, and other OT systems.
- Work with plant controls engineers, OT teams, network engineers, and centralized architecture resources during deployments.
- Perform system testing, validation, commissioning, and production-readiness activities prior to site turnover.
- Identify and resolve deployment issues while maintaining consistency with established global architecture standards.
- Document configurations, deployment procedures, site-specific changes, troubleshooting steps, and as-built environments.
- Provide feedback to the architecture team to improve deployment templates and repeatable rollout processes.
- Support multiple deployments as the program expands across additional locations globally.
- 3+ years of experience working with SCADA, industrial controls, OT systems, or industrial automation.
- Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, commissioning, or supporting SCADA/HMI environments.
- Experience connecting SCADA systems to PLCs, controllers, field devices, and industrial equipment.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as OPC/OPC UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MQTT, or similar technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting communications between field equipment, control systems, networks, and SCADA platforms.
- Understanding of industrial networking, IP addressing, switching, firewalls, and connectivity within OT environments.
- Ability to follow standardized architecture and deployment procedures while adapting configurations to individual sites.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with centralized engineering and architecture teams.
- Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition.
- Ignition Core or Gold Certification.
- Experience with other SCADA/HMI platforms such as Rockwell FactoryTalk, AVEVA/Wonderware, Siemens WinCC, GE iFIX/CIMPLICITY, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or other industrial PLC platforms.
- Experience deploying systems across multiple manufacturing or industrial locations.
- Experience with historians, SQL databases, industrial data collection, alarming, and visualization.
- Familiarity with OT cybersecurity and network segmentation best practices.
- Experience supporting large-scale or global industrial technology deployments.
