Come join the Out of Production Systems Design team and provide essential leadership in ensuring the safety, reliability and sustainment of our Out of Production Program. The Out of Production (OoP) Design Engineering Manager leads engineering teams responsible for sustaining, modifying, and supporting aircraft and systems that are no longer in production. This role provides technical leadership, program and resource management, and customer advocacy to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions for legacy products. The K-level manager will partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Fleet Chief's Office, Chief Project Engineer, supply chain, certification, and customers) to prioritize work, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement across OoP program.
Position Responsibilities:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site in Seal Beach, CA.

Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a multi-discipline OoP design systems engineering team (avionics, environmental control, mechanical, and/or electrical systems,) to deliver engineering solutions for in-service and retired production platforms.
- Establish technical strategy and priorities for OoP design activities aligned to program objectives, budget, and customer needs.
- Manage multiple OoP projects, including Continued Operational Safety Program (COSP), Service Related Problems (SRPs), obsolescence and related design changes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification requirements; coordinate with certification authorities and Engineering Unit Members (E-UM)s when required.
- Drive technical reviews, design reviews, root-cause investigations, and failure investigations; mentor staff in structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, ethics, engineering excellence and continuous improvement
- Hire, develop, evaluate, and coach engineering staff; create succession plans and maintain team competency profiles.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 2+ years leading engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience leading or managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills; ability to distill complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong program management skills: budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, risk management, trade studies, and escalation management
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- Technical background in Avionics or Environmental Control Systems
