About the Role

Thoropass is looking for a highly motivated Marketing Development Representative to turn demand into qualified pipeline.

This is an outbound-heavy role focused on activating leads generated through traditional marketing channels and cold prospecting. You’ll be responsible for identifying the right accounts, reaching out quickly, personalizing your follow-up, and converting interest into qualified meetings for the sales team.

This role is ideal for someone who has a hunter mindset, moves quickly, and knows how to turn signals into conversations. You’ll work closely with Marketing and Sales to improve campaign conversion, surface prospect insights, and help build a repeatable engine for revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively prospect into target accounts using email, phone, LinkedIn, video, and other outbound channels.
  • Identify and engage potential buyers, including security, compliance, IT, finance, and executive stakeholders.
  • Research accounts to understand company size, industry, compliance needs, current audit activity, and potential business pain.
  • Build personalized outreach based on relevant triggers, such as upcoming audits, new frameworks, customer requirements, growth, funding, or regulatory pressure.
  • Schedule qualified meetings directly on Account Executive calendars.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects through structured sequences and personalized one-to-one outreach.
  • Re-engage stalled, unresponsive, no-show, and previously engaged prospects to create new opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to align on target accounts, qualification criteria, messaging, and meeting quality.
  • Maintain accurate lead, contact, account, activity, and opportunity data in HubSpot.
  • Manage daily activity against outbound goals, including calls, emails, social touches, meetings booked, and qualified opportunities created.
  • Surface common objections, competitor mentions, buyer pain points, and messaging insights to Sales and Marketing leadership.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of SDR, BDR, sales, demand generation, or outbound prospecting experience.
  • 2+ years of marketing campaign collaboration experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable making calls, sending personalized emails, and using LinkedIn to engage prospects.
  • Ability to quickly understand prospect pain points and connect them to relevant solutions.
  • Experience working with HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, Qualified, or similar tools preferred.
  • Highly organized and disciplined about follow-up, data hygiene, and activity tracking.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, action-oriented environment.
  • Strong curiosity, coachability, and willingness to test new messaging and outreach approaches.
  • Experience in SaaS, cybersecurity, compliance, audit, or GRC is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $70,000 base salary, variable compensation, and equity
  • Exceptional health, dental, and vision care
  • Early equity in a fast-growing company
  • Remote/Work from home model
  • Unlimited PTO

Thoropass provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.

This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.

Even if you feel you don’t meet every requirement, consider applying!
