Our client is looking for a Paralegal – Probate to support their legal team by managing case documentation, drafting legal pleadings, and maintaining consistent communication with clients and stakeholders. They operate within the legal services industry and have strengthened their presence in recent years through specialized client support and streamlined legal processes.
This role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident interacting with clients. The position focuses heavily on probate matters, requiring a solid understanding (or strong willingness to learn) of probate procedures, court filings, and estate-related documentation across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in Florida.
- Prepare, review, and draft a variety of legal documents, with a strong emphasis on probate filings and estate-related pleadings
- Organize, manage, and maintain accurate case files and documentation
- Handle e-filing processes across different Florida counties, ensuring compliance with court procedures
- Track deadlines, maintain attorney calendars, and provide timely reminders to ensure all filings and tasks are completed on schedule
- Communicate directly with clients, family members, referral partners, and external vendors to gather required information and provide updates
- Explain case status and documentation requirements clearly to clients
- Conduct legal research related to probate matters and court procedures
- Facilitate client meetings, including assisting with document execution when needed
- Relay information efficiently between attorneys, clients, and third parties
- Use legal practice management and trust accounting software to track time, expenses, and case progress
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Secretary
- Hands-on experience or strong exposure to probate law, estate administration, or similar legal areas
- Familiarity with court filing systems and procedures, ideally within Florida jurisdictions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions
- High level of organization and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Ability to handle sensitive situations when working with clients and their families
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with legal practice management software is a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong time management and follow-up skills
