Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Redwood City, CA, Liftoff has a diverse, global presence.

About the role

Liftoff Mobile is looking for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer (Contractor) to support our internal Brand Design and Marketing team. This role is designed as ongoing, flexible support rather than fixed project-by-project work - you’ll be our go-to designer when extra hands are needed.

You’ll work across a wide range of brand and marketing outputs, supporting Product Marketing, Marketing, and People Experience teams, as well as contributing to proactive brand initiatives. Projects are varied and fast-moving, and you’ll need to be comfortable jumping between formats, priorities, and stakeholders.

Our brand is illustrative and expressive, but this role does not require illustration skills - instead, we’re looking for someone with an excellent eye for composition, colour, typography, accessibility, and storytelling, who knows how to make the most of existing brand assets.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing high-quality brand and marketing materials across print and digital
  • Supporting event design (print assets, signage, collateral)
  • Creating and optimising designs for:
  • Email marketing
  • LinkedIn and paid marketing assets
  • Website updates
  • Presentation and sales materials
  • Translating complex products and data-driven stories into clear, compelling visual narratives
  • Acting as flexible backup support for the internal design team during busy periods
  • Working on short-term bookings (e.g. 2–3 weeks at a time) with multiple assigned tasks rather than a single project
  • Collaborating closely with designers, marketers, product partners, and stakeholders across EMEA, APAC and the US

About you

You’re a senior-level designer who is confident, adaptable, and pragmatic. You bring experience, not ego, and are comfortable slotting into an established brand and team.

You likely have:

  • 5–10 years’ experience in brand and graphic design (in-house and/or agency)
  • Strong print experience, particularly for events and physical brand touchpoints
  • Solid experience designing for digital marketing channels
  • A sharp eye for layout, hierarchy, colour coordination, and typography
  • A strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles
  • Proven ability to design presentation materials and tell clear stories for complex or technical products
  • Experience in ad tech, mobile, SaaS, or technology environments (highly beneficial)
  • Familiarity with UX or product design principles (useful but not essential)

Tools & workflow

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, XD)
  • Bonus if you have experience with motion, lightweight animation, or digital design tools
  • Comfortable working within existing brand guidelines and with brand design systems
  • Experience working in Jira or similar project management tools

You’ll be expected to:

  • Manage deadlines and delivery dates across multiple requests
  • Brainstorm and seek feedback from our internal design team (be communicative)
  • Track feedback and approvals
  • Deliver work in clear stages
  • Flag missing inputs or assets proactively
  • QA your work carefully before delivery (files, formats, brand consistency)

Ways of working

  • Small, senior team of designers based across London and San Francisco
  • Fully remote, highly collaborative, and async-friendly
  • Flexible workload - hours/requests may vary seasonally
  • Once onboarded, there’s potential to increase time commitment
    • Please note, Liftoff has an onboarding process that requires security checks

What we value

  • Highly organized and dependable
  • Clear, friendly communicator
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Collaborative mindset and low-ego approach
  • Strong sense of ownership and pride in craft
