About Open Standard

Open Standard is on a mission to build the world's best money, starting with the US dollar. We believe money should move the way data does: instantly, globally, at any hour, in any amount. Today, financial transactions are hindered by delays, fees, and inefficiencies that every business must bear. We’re here to change that.

Our flagship product, Open USD, is a stablecoin designed for the internet: programmable, global, and built to reward the businesses that champion its adoption. Launched in close partnership with industry leaders like Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, Coinbase, and Shopify, Open Standard already has over 200 top companies in its network. Our lean team is based in San Francisco and New York and is led by Zach Abrams, who co-founded Bridge (acquired by Stripe for $1.1B) and previously led product at Brex, Coinbase, and Square.

Money is the world's most foundational product. Join us to help redefine it.

The role

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in bringing the world’s leading banks, payment companies, exchanges, and fintechs into the Open USD ecosystem. With over 200 partners already on board, you will own a portfolio of high-value relationships, managing them from initial engagement through to commercial agreement and beyond, nurturing partnerships over the long term. This is a quota-carrying partnerships role, similar in scope to a senior account executive at a payments network or stablecoin issuer.

You’ll work with sophisticated counterparties making critical decisions about their money. These organizations will want deep insight into the economics, risk, and governance of Open USD, and will rely on your expertise to navigate those discussions. Success in this role requires equal ease working with a bank’s treasury and compliance teams as well as fintech founders, building trust by asking the right questions and providing clear, informed answers.

This is a unique chance to join as one of our first commercial hires, take ownership of relationships with the world’s biggest financial institutions, and help shape how Open Standard sells as our team grows.

What you'll do

  • Manage a portfolio of partners from qualified interest through executed agreement

  • Clearly and consistently articulate the benefits of Open USD to business, finance, and compliance stakeholders, bringing in Legal or the CEO as needed

  • Lead deals at every stage: navigating due diligence, driving internal approvals, guiding integration, and following through to ensure customer success

  • Advise partners on integration options and match them with the right solutions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure materials and messaging effectively communicate our value proposition, both directly and through partners’ market-facing teams

  • Share market insights from your conversations with internal teams, including Legal, Marketing, Product, and the CEO

You may be a good fit if you

  • Have 2-5 years of experience selling payments, financial infrastructure, or digital asset products to financial institutions, crypto-native platforms, or fintechs

  • Are comfortable executing diligence-heavy sales processes, including due diligence questionnaires, legal negotiations, complex stakeholder management, and long (3 to 9 month) sales cycles

  • Can confidently lead commercial discussions with partners’ CFOs and Heads of Product

  • Take ownership of customer-facing materials, building decks, one-pagers, or demos when needed, and updating or retiring outdated assets

Strong candidates may also have

  • Established relationships across financial institutions, crypto-native platforms, or fintechs

  • Experience as an early sales hire, successfully turning an unproven business development motion into a scalable repeatable process through constant iteration

Logistics

  • Location: San Francisco or New York, hybrid with a mix of in-office and remote days
