About Fractional AI

How do you turn a decades-old dataset into an industry-leading medical coding agent? Teach an AI receptionist to book appointments in Spanish? Automatically generate working data connectors from API docs? Build agents that write, test, and deploy their own software packages?

Fractional AI is focused on putting frontier AI to work. We're a group of veteran Silicon Valley builders who care deeply about getting complex AI systems built right, with strong conviction about what makes them succeed.

On May 20, we became the founding team behind a new AI services business backed by Anthropic, Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, Goldman Sachs, General Atlantic, Leonard Green & Partners, Apollo Global Management, GIC, and Sequoia Capital.

The Role

We're a CEO's first call when they're thinking about AI transformation. To deliver on that promise at scale, we need to deepen our bench, growing our core offering and building new capabilities that let us offer an end-to-end solution across the AI transformation lifecycle.

A meaningful portion of our growth will be inorganic: acquihires to rapidly scale our team of frontier AI builders, and strategic acquisitions to expand into adjacent service lines. This role exists to own that motion — from mapping the landscape, to closing deals, and driving successful integration.

You'll work directly with our CEO to identify, structure, and execute these opportunities. This is a senior, high-ownership role with direct exposure to the most consequential decisions we make as a company.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic partnerships. Identify collaboration opportunities (e.g., joint go-to-market motions and delivery frameworks) with other players in the ecosystem who have complementary capabilities.

  • Service line expansion. Define how we expand across the AI transformation lifecycle. Identify and prioritize where to build, partner, or acquire and build the investment thesis for each.

  • Deal sourcing & origination. Build and maintain a proprietary target universe across acquihires, tuck-ins, and capability acquisitions. Actively cultivate relationships with founders, investors, and advisors so the best deals come to us before they go to market.

  • Transaction execution. Own the full deal lifecycle: financial modeling, LOI negotiation, diligence coordination, and close. Structure creative deal types (earnouts, minority stakes, partnerships with options) that create alignment without overpaying.

  • Integration & value realization. Lead post-close integration from day one of diligence. Define success metrics, map ownership, and set 90-day milestones before a deal closes.

What You Bring

  • You've operated at the intersection of commercial and technical — as a founder, investor, or operator — and have the instincts to show for it. You know how to build relationships that turn into revenue, and how to close.

  • You've led the full M&A lifecycle, from sourcing through integration, and know what separates a deal that creates real capability from one that looks good on paper.

  • You bring strong financial modeling skills and fluency in deal structuring and valuation — LBO/DCF analysis, precedent transactions, trading comps.

  • You have sharp judgment on the AI landscape. You know what's real and what's hype, where the white space is, and how the pieces fit together across the enterprise transformation stack.

  • You build trust quickly with senior stakeholders and are as comfortable in a boardroom as you are rolling up your sleeves to get a deal across the line.

  • High agency, low ego. You operate comfortably in ambiguity, with a bias toward action.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
