This role

The Partnership Sales Development Representative (Partnership SDR/PDR) is responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying high-potential referral partners for the Partnerships team. This role focuses on building the top of the partner pipeline by sourcing prospects, conducting outbound outreach, nurturing early interest, and booking qualified partner discovery meetings for Partner Account Executives (PAEs).

Your key focus areas will be:

  • Research and identify potential referral partners across key categories (HR consultants, accounting firms/bookkeepers, IT/MSPs, associations, VCs/PE/accelerators, and industry influencers)
  • Build targeted outreach lists using CRM, LinkedIn, industry databases, directories, and web research
  • Execute multi-touch outbound campaigns (email, phone, LinkedIn, SMS, events) to engage net-new partner opportunities
  • Craft tailored messaging based on partner motivation (revenue share, value-add for their clients, brand/market awareness, efficiency, or ecosystem alignment)
  • Qualify partner prospects through discovery conversations to understand their business model, client base, ICP alignment, and partnership motivations
  • Book high-quality, high-intent partner meetings for Partner AEs
  • Maintain and optimize a predictable pipeline of early-stage partner opportunities
  • Document conversations, qualification notes, and partner insights clearly within CRM for seamless PAE handoff
  • Work closely with PAEs to refine partner ICP, vertical focus, and outreach strategy
  • Provide feedback loops to marketing and enablement on partner objections, common patterns, and market trends
  • Represent the company professionally across all outbound interactions
  • Attend relevant events (virtual/in-person) to source partner prospects when required
  • Serve as an early relationship builder who positions the company as a trusted, value-driven partner solution
  • Generate and maintain a healthy funnel of qualified partner opportunities
  • Deliver consistent weekly/monthly volumes of: qualified partner meetings booked for PAEs, net-new partnership opportunities sourced, partner prospects added and qualified in CRM.

Who you are

To thrive at Employment Hero, you’ll need to embody The EH Way – operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you’ll also bring:

  • 1–3 years of experience in outbound prospecting, sales development, partnerships development, recruitment, or business development (B2B SaaS or HR tech experience preferred but not required).
  • Strong research, lead-generation, and outbound prospecting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal.
  • Ability to tailor messaging to different partner motivations and industries.
  • High comfort with cold outreach and building new relationships.
  • Strong organizational discipline in managing sequences, cadences, follow-ups, and CRM hygiene.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with PAEs, marketing, product, and operations.
