We are looking for a Payroll Accounting intern the United States who will join us for the summer to assist with the global payroll accounting month-end close process.

Your future team
Our Payroll Team is comprised of people with backgrounds in Accounting and Audit. We are responsible for Payroll Accounting including monthly journal vouchers and account reconciliations to fulfill an essential company need. We're hiring a Payroll Accounting Intern, reporting to the Payroll Accounting Manager.
What you'll do:

• Learn about the business and gain hands-on experience using our top-notch Atlassian products
• Work in a fast-paced, high growth and dynamic environment
• Assist in monthly/quarterly worldwide accounting close activities
• Provide support in preparing audit requests for the Company's external and internal auditors
• Engage in continuous process improvement efforts to streamline business processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Assist with ad hoc accounting and payroll projects as needed.
• Commit to at least a 12 week full-time (40hrs/week) remote internship during Summer 2025

Your background

• Currently enrolled in 4 a year full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship, graduating by May/June 2026
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance or similar program
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and GL reconciliations
• Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Conditional Formulas etc.); experience with ERP is a plus
• Desire to facilitate impact, and demonstrate vitality with projects big and small.
• Comfort operating independently in a constantly evolving environment and with multiple teams relying on your work.
• Pride in your work and view what you do as a part-owner and builder of Atlassian.
• You understand that organizations are made up of very different parts. You relish influencing others and co-piloting cross-team programs.

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $33-37
Zone B: $29-33
Zone C: $27-31
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
