We are a 1400-member team based in Korea, with 40 employees in California and a few out of state.

The Role

As the People & Culture Operations Manager, you will be the operational backbone of our People team. You’ll manage the day-to-day HR tasks that support the full employee lifecycle, with a heavy emphasis on ensuring our team gets paid accurately and on time. You will be our resident Rippling expert, manage HRIS data and metrics, you’ll also answer employee questions, and help maintain the vibrant, inclusive culture of our Hollywood studio. You will occasionally liaise with our Korean HQ, responding to requests for reports and data.

  • Payroll Processing: Own the end-to-end processing of our semi-monthly payroll using Rippling for all exempt, non-exempt, and contractor staff. Handle prorated pay, bonuses, overtime calculations, and time-off tracking.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage company-wide benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401k).
  • HRIS Admin: Serve as the primary driver for our Rippling platform. Ensure accurate and timely data entry for new hires, terminations, title changes, promotions, compensation updates, and reporting and documentation.
  • Compliance: Keep our handbook and policies up to date for Federal, CA, and multi-state laws.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Coordinate orientation, manage I-9 verification, provision systems directly through Rippling, and ensure a seamless entry (and exit) for all employees.
  • Employee Support: Act as the first point of contact for routine employee inquiries regarding paychecks, tax document access, benefits enrollment, leaves of absence, and policies.
  • HQ & Global Systems: Manage HQ reporting for new hires, terminations, and monthly headcount updates; ensure all people changes are approved.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in HR operations or payroll administration. Experience in gaming, tech, or entertainment is a massive plus!
  • System Expertise: You have hands-on, administrative experience using Rippling for HRIS and payroll processing.
  • Payroll Knowledge: A solid understanding of basic payroll principles, California wage and hour laws (e.g., meal penalties, overtime rules), and benefits deductions.
  • Detail-Obsessed: You have a high level of accuracy when it comes to people's paychecks and data.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a knack for handling sensitive and confidential information with absolute discretion.
  • Growth Mindset: You have a willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative. You see change as an opportunity and lead by example as a trusted contributor and valued team member.

Leadership

You will report to the CPO. You will lead by example and view our employees as your collaborators and clients, providing them with swift responses, following up on their requests, and positioning yourself as their trusted colleague while safeguarding confidential information and sound judgment.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
