About the Role

The People Operations Coordinator will support the day-to-day People Operations function at Critical Loop and help create a smooth, consistent employee experience across the organization. Reporting to the People & Talent Lead, this role will support benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, HR systems, compliance, and general employee support.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, responsive, and comfortable working across a wide range of People-related needs in a fast-growing environment. You’ll help keep the operational side of People running smoothly while serving as an approachable resource for employees and managers.

This is a Hybrid Role located in Torrance, CA. On-site requirement is 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day People Operations

  • Help coordinate the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding

  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, employee questions, and coordination with benefit vendors

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, ensuring employee changes are documented and processed timely

  • Support onboarding logistics, including new hire documentation, system setup coordination, benefits information, and first-day readiness

  • Coordinate offboarding, including documentation, final payroll inputs, benefits transitions, equipment coordination, and system access

  • Provide support with employee relations matters, including documentation, follow-up, and coordination with the Head of People

  • Assist with leave administration, accommodations, and other employee-specific People processes

  • Support payroll-related employee changes and ensure accurate information is communicated to the accounting team

  • Assist with HR compliance, required notices, documentation, recordkeeping, and policy administration

  • Support performance review cycles and other recurring People programs

  • Help maintain and improve People processes, documentation, templates, and internal resources as the company grows

  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, IT, managers, and other teams to support employee needs

  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, company events, and other People team projects

  • Take on additional People Operations responsibilities and projects as the organization continues to scale

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or a similar role

  • Working knowledge of core HR processes, including onboarding, off-boarding, benefits, employee records, and general HR administration

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort working directly with employees at all levels

  • Sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

  • Comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate or ask for guidance

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with HRIS and other People systems; experience with Gusto or similar platforms is a plus

  • Familiarity with California employment practices is a plus

  • A service-oriented approach and genuine interest in creating a positive employee experience

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing environment where processes may continue to evolve
