We're looking for a People & Operations Generalist to help keep Simular running smoothly as we scale. You'll be the go-to person for our Palo Alto HQ - owning day-to-day operations, supporting our team through the full employee lifecycle, and keeping things organized behind the scenes.

What you'll do

  • Own office management: facilities, supplies, vendor relationships, and making sure the space works well for the team

  • Run payroll processing and coordinate with our external providers to make sure everyone gets paid accurately and on time

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding end-to-end: equipment setup, account access, first-day logistics, and exit processes

  • Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions

  • Support benefits administration and coordinate with insurance and payroll vendors

  • Assist with recruiting coordination when needed: scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, keeping pipelines organized

  • Identify and improve operational workflows — if something is manual and repetitive, you'll want to fix it

You might be a fit if

  • 2-4 years of experience in People Ops, HR, office management, or a similar generalist role

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • You're organized, reliable, and comfortable owning things without a lot of hand-holding

  • You have experience with payroll tools and HRIS systems

  • You're good at juggling multiple priorities and keeping track of a lot of moving parts

  • You're based in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area

Bonus

Experience at an early-stage startup. Exposure to multi-jurisdiction employment compliance (US + international).
