Spacecraft represent the most pressing unmet need across the entire aerospace industry. As more launch vehicles come online and the cost to orbit decreases, more companies launching payloads to space continue to emerge.

For the first time in history, this influx of payload companies combined with reduced launch costs has resulted in a massive increase in need for commercial spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. These buses hold the payloads of our customers and are flown on launch vehicles.

Apex manufactures these satellite buses at scale using a combination of software, vertical integration, and hardware that is designed for manufacturing. Our spacecraft enable the future of society: ranging from earth observation to communications and more.

We’d love for you to join us on our mission of providing humankind access to the galaxy beyond our planet.

About the Role

The People Operations Generalist owns the continuous improvement of People programs across the employee lifecycle. This role delivers accurate, compliant, and employee-centered support across HR systems, total rewards, reporting, and key lifecycle processes, while helping build scalable People Operations infrastructure in Rippling and connected systems.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and energized by building scalable People processes in a fast-growing environment. The right candidate brings strong judgment, clear communication, analytical curiosity, and a proactive approach to improving how work gets done. This person will help the People Team scale efficiently, strengthen cross-functional coordination, and turn operational excellence into a better employee experience.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Leverage Rippling to build a scalable, compliant People Operations infrastructure, using automation and workflow design to improve the employee lifecycle experience and increase team capacity.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, and IT on employee lifecycle processes and workflows, improving coordination, compliance, and the employee experience.

  • Produce reliable people insights that help leaders make informed decisions and proactively address business and workforce needs.

  • Contribute to the evolution of our total rewards programs through benchmarking, analysis, and operational support.

  • Help ensure the smooth execution of high-visibility People programs, including performance reviews, compensation cycles, and other key annual initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design of key lifecycle processes in Rippling, ensuring accuracy, compliant documentation, and seamless workflow execution.

  • Support the development of our compensation and total rewards framework, including market benchmarking, job documentation, compensation analysis, and related data projects.

  • Administer benefits programs, enrollments, and life event changes, and execute open enrollment, employee education, and wellness initiatives.

  • Coordinate reasonable accommodations, ensuring timely administration, clear communication, and compliance with applicable laws and company practices.

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee and manager questions related to People policies, programs, and lifecycle processes, using sound judgment and escalating more complex matters as appropriate.

  • Build and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and data checks to support headcount tracking, turnover analysis, compliance reporting, and broader People insights.

  • Help develop, document, and improve People policies, procedures, and workflows across the People and Talent Acquisition teams, using systems and process design to drive clarity, consistency, efficiency, and scale.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or HR Generalist roles in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience being an HRIS super-admin; Rippling experience preferred.

  • Experience building core employee lifecycle processes, such as onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, leave administration, and documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with accuracy and discretion.

  • Working knowledge of federal and California state employment law fundamentals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate process and policy changes into clear, actionable guidance.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and build effective working relationships across functions and levels.

  • Comfort with reporting, spreadsheets, and People data analysis; able to spot trends, surface insights, and use data to support decisions.

  • Process improvement mindset with an interest in automation, systems optimization, and scalable service delivery.

  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, with interest in applying new tools thoughtfully to improve efficiency, communication, and employee experience.
