About Tapestry

Tapestry is a team within Alphabet working to build the AI-powered electric grid. We are tackling one of the world’s most important infrastructure challenges: helping the energy system become more visible, understandable, reliable, affordable, abundant, and clean.

Originally born at X, Alphabet’s moonshot factory, Tapestry brings together experts in energy, AI, software, engineering, and product to build tools that help the electricity ecosystem plan smarter, move faster, and operate more efficiently.  This is a global effort. Tapestry supports partners across the U.S., U.K., Chile, New Zealand, Australia, and Brazil as they work toward a cleaner, more resilient energy future.

Joining Tapestry means doing high-impact work with a multidisciplinary team tackling a problem that matters at global scale. Learn more about our team and our mission here.

About the role

You’ll join the small, high-impact Tapestry People & Talent team as our first dedicated operations analyst, responsible for building and scaling the operations behind how we hire, onboard, and support the entire employee lifecycle. .

This is a builder role. You won’t just run processes , you’ll design and improve them from the ground up.

You’ll partner closely across Talent Acquisition, HR, People Programs, and leadership to create scalable systems and workflows that enable Tapestry to grow efficiently while maintaining a high bar for candidate and employee experience.  You’ll own and execute critical day-to-day HR operational processes (e.g., managing onboarding workflows and employee exits), and also maintain underlying Plx data pipelines and Apps Script dashboards that power our organization.

Our ideal candidate is a curious analyst, detail-oriented operator, and a natural process-improver. You enjoy learning and thrive in a small-team, in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift daily. You have a passion for working the magic behind the scenes, navigating complex systems in large ecosystems like Alphabet, and being resourceful and scrappy to find the solutions for employee queries.   You’re a systems-level thinker & AI adopter - holding a strong ability to conceptualize and automate workflows, as you become our go-to operations foundation across our Talent Acquisition & HR teams.

What you should have:

  • 3+ years of experience working with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday, Greenhouse, or similar)
  • Data analysis experience, including high proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau).
  • Experience with a scripting language (e.g., Python, Google Apps Script, JavaScript) and a strong desire to grow your technical ability.
  • Strong understanding of how systems connect and experience leveraging AI tools as a co-pilot to generate scripts (e.g., Google Apps Script, Python), query data, and troubleshoot process improvement
  • Proven ability to perform repeatable operational tasks with exceptional speed and accuracy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous execution in managing time-sensitive operational tasks (e.g., transfers, compliance).
  • A strong learning mindset and a proactive, curious approach to solving problems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams.

It'd be great if you had these:

  • Experience partnering with and presenting data-driven insights to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience building dashboards and turning data into business insights.
  • Experience partnering with Recruiting to optimize hiring operations, ATS workflows, and candidate experience from application through onboarding.
  • A deep, mission-driven passion for grid and energy, and building world-changing teams from the ground up.
  • Experience working in high-growth or early-stage environments

What we offer:

A culture that supports growth, ownership, and meaningful impact, along with…

  • Generous PTO and flexible hybrid work model
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
