Under general supervision, the Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory duties, including specimen collection, processing, and waived testing. This position requires excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. The Phlebotomist plays an essential role in patient care and laboratory operations by performing high-quality specimen collection and diagnostic support services. This position involves working with patients of all ages, ensuring accurate and safe sample handling, and maintaining a professional, patient-centered environment. Optum Phlebotomists support both clinical workflows and administrative processes to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient laboratory operations.
Schedule - A 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00 pm
Location: 1600 E Citrus Ave Redlands, CA
Primary Responsibilities:

• Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques promptly
• Identifies and labels specimens appropriately
• Instruct patients about urine and stool collection procedures
• Enters accessioning data into the computer
• Prepares specimens for sending out testing
• Inventories supply and prepare phlebotomy stations to effectively collect blood
• Attends required meetings
• Enhance professional growth and development through Inservice meetings and education programs
• Maintains patient confidentiality
• Performs related work as required
• Provide Surgical Scheduling, precertification and scheduling maintenance of surgeries for one or more Physicians
• Provide quality Customer Service to the patients and visitors courteously and promptly
• Must possess solid interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with co-workers, Management Staff, and Physicians
• Provide surgical instructions, communicate patient financial responsibility, and secure prepayment from patients and/or financial agreements according to established policies and procedures
• Must be able to work effectively and cooperatively as a team member, balancing both the support of the physician(s) and following the financial policies established by CAREMOUNT MEDICAL and ASCW
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and actions with patients, staff, Physicians and Administrators always
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information
• Other duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
• Certification from an Accredited Phlebotomy Diploma Program
• 6+ months of Phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual English/Spanish

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
