As a hands-on Sales Engineer, you will engage in pre-sales activities to evangelize, position, and architect solutions for our clients using Conversant Group’s secure-first designs and configurations of hardware, software, and services. You will also engage in post-sales activities to work alongside our implementation and managed services teams to ensure successful handoff for delivery of our secure solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as technical expert for Conversant Group’s Technical Directives.
- Extended product knowledge for solutions that Conversant Group recommends.
- Competitive knowledge for products that are not part of the Conversant Group portfolio so that the customer understands the risks associated with implementing alternative solutions.
- Work with account team to propose solutions that meet the technology and business requirements for the client.
- Work with account team members to help manage, support, and prioritize sales opportunities.
- Lead in the discovery, analysis, design, and refinement of fully integrated, secure technology solutions.
- Own the customer relationship from a technical perspective.
- Responsible for obtaining the technical win.
- Join post-sales technical implementation calls with clients and Conversant Group’s delivery teams.
- Write technical and functional specifications to match client requirements, including statements of work (SOWs), letters of engagement (LOEs), and proposed architecture designs.
- Work with account team members, as well as external vendors, to build and review bills of materials (BOMs) for solutions being designed and sold.
- Work closely with PMO and Implementation teams to communicate the vision and ensure successful delivery of designed solutions to the client.
Qualifications, Requirements & Preferred Skills
- Minimum of 5 years pre-sales experience in a related industry. Preferred experience includes one or more of the following:
- Druva, Rubrik, Cohesity or competitive backup solutions
- Pure, HPE, NetApp or related storage
- VMWare, HyperV, Citrix Virtualization and VDI
- Network LAN/WAN Connectivity
- Multi-factor authentication
- Secure network design and segmentation
- Palo Alto, Fortinet, or competitive next generation firewalls
- Microsoft O365, Azure, AD, Teams and SharePoint
- Databases such as SQL, Oracle, Mongo
- ProofPoint, Mimecast, or competitive email security alternative
- Citrix Workspace, Horizon View, or competitive virtual desktop solution
- CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender, or competitive EDR solution
- Knowledge in building design documents leveraging technologies such as Visio.
- Cybersecurity knowledge as pertains to best practices in preventing breaches.
- Experience building BOMs (HPe, Cisco, etc.), SOWs, and LOEs to support a designed solution.
- Experience in a startup company/culture is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Expertise in developing creative technical solutions that challenge the client’s status quo.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Utilize Force Management methodology to gain the technical win and build internal champions.
