Hajoca Corporation is one of the country’s largest privately-held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Founded in 1858, Hajoca is a company based on the principles of “Service, Integrity, Reliability,” and on relationships of trust and support with teammates, customers, and suppliers.  Throughout its history, Hajoca has played an active role in shaping advances in plumbing. However, we attribute our success to two simple truths; a unique business philosophy and talented people. Hajoca is all about the people, who give us our advantage, and who will guide us successfully into the future.

Although Hajoca is a large company, we work in a decentralized environment where each of our locations, called Profit Centers (PCs), is run by the Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business. A typical Profit Center is the heart of our business and consists of a warehouse, counter, sales office, and (sometimes) a showroom. Our PCs conduct business under unique trade names and offer a customized business approach, honoring what’s special about each local marketplace.

Hajoca is one of those trade names and is looking for a Pricing Specialist at their East Division Management location.

This is a remote position.

Are you strategic and detail-oriented? Do you enjoy working with others and being a resource for valuable information? Are you skilled at handling large sets of data? If so, we’d like you to join our team as a Pricing Specialist.

About the Role:

    You will:

  • Manage the pricing strategies for your assigned area and play a crucial role in supporting purchasing and Profit Center teams.

  • Analyze and interpret data from our Eclipse software to create actionable insights, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Independently manipulate, analyze, and present complex data sets in Microsoft Excel to provide strategic insights to the Purchasing Department, Profit Center Managers, and for Divisional Reporting.

  • Design and implement data templates for use in our Eclipse software system, ensuring all uploads are accurate, well-organized, and aligned with internal reporting standards.
  • Manage and resolve pricing discrepancies, perform price corrections, and conduct independent research on pricing inconsistencies, leveraging advanced knowledge of product pricing and internal systems.

  • Lead efforts to maintain accurate product pricing by investigating pricing errors, identifying duplicate records, and managing the merge/purge process to ensure data integrity.
  • Independently manage and maintain Sell Groups within Eclipse, ensuring that all product groupings are optimized for operational efficiency.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the purchasing team and other company teammates, facilitating communication and leading efforts to resolve pricing issues, while ensuring alignment with company strategy and territory-specific requirements.
  • Proactively communicate vendor price increase notifications to the field, ensuring that all updated price sheets and vendor letters are distributed accurately and promptly.

  • Oversee and perform regular updates to the sell matrix, managing field requests, support ticket requests, vendor price fluctuations, new product additions, line changes, and product discontinuations with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize mass load functions in Eclipse to efficiently process large-scale data updates, while leveraging advanced reporting tools to extract relevant data for analysis and decision-making.

  • Independently manage and prioritize pricing requests from the field, ensuring that support ticket requests are processed quickly and effectively in alignment with company timelines.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.

  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

About You:

  • 5 or more years of experience managing pricing strategies for a business.

  • Intermediate knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and date functions in Microsoft Excel.

Our ideal candidate will also:

  • Possess leadership qualities and be viewed as a leader.

  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • Have the advanced skills required in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) to be able to effectively analyze data and communicate via email.

  • Be able to research and analyze data and solve problems.
  • Demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication, and generous listening skills.

  • Have strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used to create and submit quotation packages and create orders.

  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
