About the ProgramAs an Analyst Intern on the Blue Matter Insights team, you’ll join a dynamic, growing group of market research consultants who partner with leading biopharmaceutical companies to answer their most important strategic questions. From the first week, you’ll be paired with mentors, onboarded into live client projects, and given the tools, training, and coaching to develop into a confident PMR professional.The program is structured around three pillars:
- Foundational Training: A structured curriculum delivered through Blue Matter Academy, our internal learning and development capability, covering qualitative and quantitative PMR methodologies, the biopharma lifecycle, and the consulting toolkit you’ll use every day.
- Real Project Experience: Meaningful contributions to live client engagements from week one, with increasing responsibility as you grow.

- Behavioral Science Lab: Collaborate with our internal team applying behavioral science principles to research design, decision-making, and client insights.
- AI Taskforce: Join the team exploring how AI is transforming market research, from workflow automation to new analytical approaches, and help pilot emerging tools.
- Capstone Project: Design and present your own solution. Each Analyst will ideate and develop a new product, methodology, or process innovation related to PMR, and present it to the full team as the culminating deliverable of the program.
- Bring genuine curiosity to study objectives, therapy areas, and the bigger picture, from product lifecycle strategy to client account dynamics.
- Build foundational knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, the asset development lifecycle, and the broader life sciences landscape.
- Develop expertise across Blue Matter’s research methodologies and learn to speak fluently to the strengths, trade-offs, and applications of each.
- Own your responsibilities by delivering consistent, on-time work across every project you touch.
- Invest in our culture through internal initiatives, team-building, and peer collaboration.
- Support end-to-end project execution across both qualitative and quantitative (survey-based) research studies.
- Contribute to project discussions through active listening, thoughtful note-taking, background research, and sharing ideas.
- Help develop research materials, including discussion guides, surveys, status updates, and analysis plans.
- Execute rigorous quality control, managing data processing activities such as data entry and verification with care and precision.
- Support report development alongside the research team to build report templates and synthesize findings into clear insights.
- Coordinate timelines across internal teams, external vendors, and clients to keep projects on track.
- Drive post-meeting momentum by proactively identifying and tracking action items.
- Partner cross-functionally with Consulting, Analytics, and other Blue Matter teams to ensure integrated delivery and shared insight.
- Learn our operational standards, including compliance, project setup, and the full project lifecycle, so you can advise confidently, both internally and with clients.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant internship/work experience a plus
- Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in healthcare, life sciences, business, behavioral science, or a related field
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Slack, Zoom, and Google Drive
- Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Sharp critical thinking and analytical reasoning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to distill and summarize large amounts of information into clear takeaways
