Job DescriptionYour mission
You’ll explore how to harness the potential of AI to scale your impact as a designer. You’ll quickly test and iterate on your ideas with a high degree of freedom and flexibility, learning as part of your day-to-day work as the technology evolves.
You’ll shape the core Wise Assistant experience for Support and beyond. You’ll design the system that guides our customers through every part of the Wise product, giving them quick and reliable help exactly when they need it. Together with your technical partners, you’ll architect and design agents, own prompts, and define how context and knowledge are used to resolve real customer problems.
This role will sit within the Content Design Guild as part of our Design team, as the disciplines share a common skill set and design process.
How you’ll contribute:
- Together with a team of engineers, product managers, and data scientists, you’ll design the systems that enable Wise to deliver conversational AI experiences that help customers at the exact moment they need support.
- You’ll collaborate with partners across engineering, data science, product, and design to set the vision and strategy, and coach teams to deliver it.
- You’ll shape agent behaviour, define how components of the system interact, and own prompts, reasoning, and context.
- You’ll be influential within your product area, identifying and prioritising system needs and delivering the most impactful projects across multiple teams.
- Using your expertise, you’ll raise design maturity and deepen the Support squad’s understanding of context engineering.
- As part of the Content Design Guild, you’ll regularly collaborate with Wise’s wider content community. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to partner with other Model and Content Designers to evolve how we approach working with AI as designers.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Own the squad’s automation strategy end to end and steer its direction.
- Champion quality for our customers—you’ll define what good looks like within the squad and demonstrate it through everything you ship.
- Be part of a positive change in the world. We’re fixing a broken system and putting people and businesses in control of their money.
About you:
- You’re an accomplished and experienced Model Designer, or a systems-focused Content Designer who has already made this transition in your day-to-day work. You bring extensive experience in designing large, complex automation systems that deliver exceptional experiences to customers.
- You have an in-depth understanding of AI and strong perspectives on how its underpinning systems should be shaped, both within user-facing products and as part of the design process.
- You’ve designed systems that generate content and experiences to guide customers, including prompts, guardrails, knowledge architecture, and agents.
- You love learning new things, nerding out on technical details, and applying what you learn to solve complex problems.
- You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and collaborating successfully in this kind of environment. You learn quickly and put what you learn into practice.
- You have an eye for quality and know where to focus to improve it.
- You’re influential and inspiring, and you work well with others in a culture that values autonomy and empowerment. You champion the role of model design and content design in automation-based projects and enjoy coaching designers who are new to these kinds of products.
- You’re highly empathetic, both towards customers and the people you work with.
Heads up: this probably isn’t for you if:
You haven’t previously worked hands-on with a large-scale automated system. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to partner as an equal with data scientists and engineers when designing large, complex AI systems. You should already have a strong working knowledge of common prompt-engineering techniques and frameworks, context engineering, and agentic design.
Your experience is mostly in marketing content, advertising, copywriting, journalism, or social media, and you have no hands-on experience in model design, content design, or UX.
You’re not comfortable navigating complexity or working in a fast-paced environment.
