Team Overview

The Communications and Fraud Solutions team drives growth by developing innovative voice and fraud prevention solutions for the telecommunications ecosystem. This team partners closely with Product, Sales, and Technology to identify market opportunities, shape solution strategy, and expand TransUnion’s presence across carriers and enterprise clients. The role operates within a global, matrixed environment supporting senior leadership across the business. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

The Sr. Director, Business Development leads market expansion and partnership strategy for Voice Services across the U.S. and Canada, driving new revenue opportunities and advancing TransUnion’s position in the communications and fraud ecosystem.

  • Identify emerging industry trends, regulatory shifts, and market opportunities, translating insights into scalable business strategies and new revenue streams
  • Develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies for voice and fraud solutions, partnering with Product, Sales, and Marketing to drive adoption
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships and alliances, including negotiation of commercial agreements and joint solution development
  • Define target markets, customer segments, and partner ecosystems; develop and socialize business cases tied to revenue growth and profitability
  • Lead client and internal presentations (including C-suite audiences), articulating solution value, differentiation, and implementation considerations
  • Support end-to-end sales cycles through direct customer engagement and collaboration with Sales, Account Management, and Client Services
  • Oversee solution commercialization, including contract structuring, revenue considerations, and post-sale deployment support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions, manage implementation plans, and mitigate risks across complex deployments

Required Knowledge and Experiences

  • Telecommunications industry expertise (15+ years): Deep understanding of telecom technologies (e.g., VoIP, broadband, wireless) and service models to identify viable solution opportunities and guide product strategy
  • Business development and growth leadership: Proven ability to drive sustained revenue and profitability growth within large, matrixed organizations while influencing cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strategic and financial acumen: Experience developing business cases, evaluating market opportunities, and managing P&L considerations to support investment decisions
  • Partnership and stakeholder management: Demonstrated success building relationships, influencing without authority, and leading cross-functional collaboration to deliver customer-focused solutions
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience supporting complex technical/business solutions)
Required Technical Skills
  • Telecom technologies and ecosystem knowledge (e.g., VoIP, broadband, wireless networks)
  • Understanding of solution lifecycle and implementation processes, including deployment and commercialization considerations
  • Contract development and negotiation fundamentals, including revenue recognition considerations
  • Data-driven analysis and business case modeling to evaluate market opportunities and investment decisions

Pay Scale Information:

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $150,100.00 - $225,000.00 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
