Job Description: Principal Designer

Location: San Francisco, CA (In-Person)

About the Role:
Workbench is seeking a visionary Principal Designer to lead our design efforts and shape the future of our platform. As a Principal Designer, you will play a critical role in defining and executing our design strategy across product design, branding, and web design. This role requires a creative leader who can bring expertise, innovation, and a user-first mindset to every project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design vision and strategy for Workbench, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.

  • Drive the end-to-end product design process, from research and ideation to prototyping and final delivery.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and marketing, to align design goals with business objectives.

  • Mentor and guide the design team, fostering growth and collaboration.

  • Oversee branding initiatives to ensure a cohesive and compelling visual identity.

  • Advocate for user-centered design through UX research and usability testing.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in design roles, with a strong portfolio showcasing product design, branding, and web design projects.

  • Proficiency in Figma and other design tools.

  • Strong understanding of user experience principles and a keen eye for detail.

  • Experience with website builders like Wix, WordPress, and Webflow (a plus).

  • Familiarity with CSS or HTML (a plus but not required).

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
