CLA is seeking an experienced International Tax Services Principal to join our National Tax Office and growing ITS practice. This leadership role offers the opportunity to advise clients on complex international tax matters, drive business development initiatives, and mentor high-performing professionals across the firm. For the right candidate, this position offers flexibility and may be based in any CLA office location nationwide.
How you’ll create opportunities in this International Tax Principal role:
- Serve clients in a high impact manner, demonstrating command of international tax matters.
- Manage client relationships and engagement metrics.
- Strengthens existing client relationships and introduces existing clients to the other CLA services
- Acts as a consultant regarding a wide range of typical international business challenges, ranging from going international for the first time to optimizing existing international structures to assisting with the implementation of efficient cross-border transactions.
- Maintains current knowledge of foreign and US tax laws
- Excels at engagement management and operational excellence.
- Efficiently researches client international tax issues and apply solutions in the areas of foreign tax credit planning, mergers and acquisitions, repatriation of earnings, treaty analysis and export sales incentives.
What you will need:
- 10 years of relevant experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- CPA required (EA or JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification)
- Deep technical knowledge of international tax, foreign and US tax law

The compensation range for this position in California is: $165,000.00 - $400,000.00
The compensation range for this position in Colorado is: $190,000.00 - $300,000.00
The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $140,000.00 - $300,000.00
The compensation range for this position in Maryland is: $200,000.00 - $350,000.00
The compensation range for this position in Massachusetts is: $165,000.00 - $300,000.00
The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $130,000.00 - $400,000.00
The compensation range for this position in New York is: $340,000.00 - $400,000.00
The compensation range for this position in Washington is $150,000.00 - $400,000.00
