Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money - we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career - we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.

About the Role:

Remitly is building a new domestic peer-to-peer payments experience for U.S. consumers - a fast, trusted way for friends and family to send money to each other, built on the same trust and reliability that has made Remitly a leader in cross-border remittances. This product is currently in early functional testing, and we're looking for a Product Manager to take it from that early stage through to broad market launch and scale.

You will own the product strategy and roadmap for domestic P2P, working shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering, design, data science, risk, and compliance to turn a working prototype into a product millions of customers trust with their money. You'll be defining what "great" looks like in this category and position Remitly to win through differentiated trust, speed, cross-border connectivity, or an underserved customer segment.

This is a 0-to-1-to-scale role. In the early phase, you'll be hands-on: refining the core send/receive flow, closing functional gaps, running tests with early users, and making judgment calls with incomplete data. As the product matures, you'll shift into scaling mode: building the growth loops, trust and safety infrastructure, and operational rigor needed to compete for volume and retention against category leaders.

You Will:

  • Own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Remitly's domestic P2P payments experience, from early functional testing through public launch and scale.

  • Champion an AI-first way of working across the product lifecycle — using AI tools to accelerate user research synthesis, competitive analysis, experiment design, and spec writing, while identifying opportunities to embed AI directly into the P2P product experience (e.g., smart fraud detection, contextual send suggestions).

  • Define and prioritize the core user journeys - onboarding, linking funding sources, sending and requesting money, notifications, and dispute resolution - with an obsessive focus on speed, simplicity, and trust.

  • Partner closely with engineering and design to ship iteratively, using a tight build-measure-learn loop to validate what drives adoption, retention, and repeat usage.

  • Develop a clear point of view on competitive positioning against Venmo, Cash App, and Stripe-based P2P offerings, and translate that into product bets that differentiate Remitly in the market.

  • Work with risk, compliance, and fraud teams to build safety and trust mechanisms (identity verification, transaction monitoring, dispute handling) that scale responsibly as volume grows.

  • Define success metrics and instrumentation from day one, partnering with data/analytics to build the dashboards and experimentation framework needed to make fast, confident decisions.

  • Design and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to optimize activation, conversion, and engagement across the P2P funnel.

  • Build the business case and unit economics for scaling the product, including funding source mix, transaction costs, and monetization strategy.

  • Represent the voice of the customer - talking to early users directly, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative signals into a roadmap the whole team can rally around.

  • Communicate roadmap, trade-offs, and results clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership, building alignment and momentum behind the product.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally including consumer fintech, payments, or high-growth consumer mobile products.

  • A track record of taking a product from early-stage/0-to-1 through to scaled, high-volume usage - not just maintaining an existing roadmap.

  • An AI-first mindset — you actively use AI tools in your day-to-day workflow to move faster, and you're excited to explore where AI can create differentiated product experiences within P2P payments.

  • Deep familiarity with the P2P payments landscape (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal) and a strong point of view on what makes these products win or lose customer trust and engagement.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills - comfortable defining metrics, reading SQL/data directly, and using experimentation to drive decisions rather than relying on intuition alone.

  • Experience partnering with risk, compliance, or trust & safety functions on products that move money, or a fast ability to ramp up on regulatory and fraud considerations.

  • Sharp product sense and strong design instincts - you care about the details of the experience and can articulate why a flow works or doesn't.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias for action; you can make progress and rally a team even when the problem isn't fully defined yet.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to align engineering, design, data, risk, and executive stakeholders around a shared roadmap. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
