About the role

Everway's portfolio spans more than 20 products and ecosystems. As we continue to grow organically and through acquisition, we are building a shared platform foundation that enables products to work together seamlessly and creates a more unified experience for customers.

Identity and Access sits at the centre of that strategy. In this role, you will define the product direction for the capabilities that establish and manage identity across the Everway ecosystem, including authentication, authorisation, SSO, provisioning, rostering, and user lifecycle management.

You'll work closely with engineering, architecture, security, data, and product teams to shape platform strategy, make informed technical trade-offs, and ensure these services provide a scalable foundation for secure access, interoperability, analytics, and future platform initiatives.

Main responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Define and maintain the long-term vision and roadmap for Identity and Access capabilities across the Everway platform.
  • Make prioritisation decisions based on customer impact, platform leverage, business outcomes, technical constraints, and evidence.
  • Lead the evolution from multiple legacy identity systems towards a unified platform foundation, including migration and adoption strategies.
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, and security teams on scalability, reliability, and build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Treat internal product and engineering teams as customers, providing clear platform capabilities, interfaces, and self-service experiences.
  • Translate strategy into measurable outcomes and iterative delivery plans while balancing innovation, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Steward support for identity, authentication, and education interoperability standards, ensuring Everway remains secure and interoperable.
  • Partner with data, analytics, and AI teams to enable cross-product reporting, insights, and future platform capabilities.
  • Align stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Security, Design, and Commercial teams through influence and clear communication.
  • Contribute to product management practices and support the continued growth of platform product capabilities across Everway.
Essential criteria
  • 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex platform, infrastructure, or technical products.
  • Experience defining strategy and roadmaps for multi-stakeholder domains and delivering measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Comfortable participating in discussions around APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and platform architecture, and making informed product trade-off decisions.
  • Experience defining platform capabilities, interfaces, services, or products consumed by internal teams or external developers.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, technical constraints, scalability, and business priorities when making product decisions.
  • Experience influencing engineering, architecture, security, data, and business stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Communicates clearly with technical and non-technical audiences and can translate complex concepts into practical business outcomes.
  • Uses AI-enabled tools and workflows to improve research, analysis, prioritisation, communication, or product development practices.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in Identity and Access Management, including concepts such as SSO, SAML, OIDC, OAuth, SCIM, RBAC, or multi-tenancy.
  • Experience within EdTech or education software environments.
  • Familiarity with education data and rostering standards such as OneRoster, Clever, ClassLink, Feide, Skolon, or UniLogin.
  • Experience leading platform modernisation, consolidation, migration, or post-acquisition integration initiatives.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and architecture patterns, ideally AWS.
  • Experience working with analytics platforms, customer data systems, or modern data platforms.
  • Awareness of education-sector compliance and privacy requirements, including GDPR, FERPA, or COPPA.
  • Experience mentoring product managers or contributing to product operating models.
