Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and disciplined Project/Program Manager to join our Configurable Mixed Signal Division (CMSD). In this role, you will demonstrate full project ownership, serving as the go-to person for internal teams and managing assigned chip development projects from kickoff to customer release. You will lead cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams to deliver complex mixed-signal products, ensuring alignment with Renesas' global methodologies and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned chip development projects for the Configurable Mixed Signal Division (CMSD) by leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams that are focused on the delivery of products from kick-off to release for customers.
  • Develops, defines, and executes project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Exhibit full project ownership, become the go-to person for all internal teams for questions related to assigned projects and have total involvement in all phases of the product development process from start to finish.
  • Work with CMSD PMO lead responsible for tracking projects metrics/KPI such as schedule, risks, scope, budget, cost entitlement and manufacturability.
  • Support Annual Operation Planning. Working with CMSD PMO involves estimating, forecasting, and managing individual projects, as well as program/portfolio spending, to ensure actual spending tracks closely with the forecast and to avoid surprises.
  • Maintain good discipline & practice guidelines, processes, and execution methodologies for the team to follow to improve project execution continuously.
  • Build trust and collaborate closely with functional leadership from other functional teams for identifying and removing execution roadblocks, mitigating risks and improving efficiencies for continuously improving project execution.
  • Collaborate with X-functional teams and with peers from other business groups to drive collaboration and harvest best practices and lessons learned to keep the CMSD Product group in sync with One Renesas methodologies, tools and systems.
  • Work with demand creation, sales and marketing to align execution and sample priorities with market and customer needs to allow us to compete and win. Guide the team in preparing customer-requested RFIs and RFQs to bid on key business opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate with leadership, with the team and across the organization to keep stakeholders and leadership informed of project status in periodic project reviews.
  • Escalate early to identify and address issues before they start to impact execution metrics, if needed, by establishing Tiger teams.
  • Guide the team to prepare and effectively report project status updates at management decision point reviews as well as cross-functional project progress reviews.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding the fundamentals of design, fabrication, packaging, testing, characterization, qualification and mass production of semiconductor products.
  • Delivery of projects to schedule, budget, and quality. First-time right mentality with execution
  • Implement a project management strategy to challenge the status quo and drive higher efficiency of execution to scale up to the roadmap requirements.
  • Continuous focus on mitigating project risk by tracking progress, contingency planning and acting on small signals with high urgency and timely escalation to prevent firefighting.
  • Develop a strong, disciplined mindset among project teams that understand their role and responsibilities, collaborate with each other and seamlessly execute with continuous focus on improving all execution vectors.
  • Proficient with industry-standard project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, FMEA, 8D/Root Cause Analysis, Microsoft OneNote, etc.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of semiconductor development experience, with specific expertise in TPM and inductor technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience working for a major analog semiconductor company.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on technical program/project management experience leading teams in developing mixed-signal analog products for commercial, industrial, or automotive markets. (PMP certification is a plus).
  • 3–5 years of experience in an NPI functional role (Product, Test, Validation, Design, or Quality engineering).
  • In-depth understanding of the end-to-end product development flow (concept to production release); exposure to automotive development processes (e.g., ISO 26262, APQP) is highly desirable.

Education

  • BS, Electrical or Electronics or other Engr disciplines needed in the semiconductor field. Masters preferred.

Additional Information

The expected annual pay range for this position is $210,000 to $250,000. This position is also eligible for bonuses. Please note that the final offer amount will depend on the geographic location, applicable experience, and the candidate's skill set.
