You have a knack for identifying high-impact opportunities, evaluating emerging technologies, and delivering measurable business outcomes through scalable AI solutions.

You excel at driving technical change across complex, large-scale engineering organizations. You don't just use AI tools; you understand how to efficiently integrate them into legacy codebases without disrupting velocity. You don't just evaluate AI tools - you operationalize them, establishing the workflows and frameworks that enable successful adoption at scale.

As a Staff AI Enablement Engineer, you'll help define how engineers work in the age of AI. Through technical leadership, hands-on experimentation, and cross-functional partnership, you will accelerate the adoption of AI-native development practices. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transformation from AI-curious to AI-native engineering practices across development teams.

  • Drive AI adoption by demonstrating measurable business value through hands-on enablement, training, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

  • Evaluate emerging AI tools and coding agents (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Codex) and provide data-driven recommendations tailored to Mail's engineering ecosystem and legacy infrastructure.

  • Define, track, and report on adoption KPIs, identifying opportunities and implementing strategies to accelerate usage and impact.

  • Foster a culture of AI innovation through communities of practice, knowledge-sharing forums, and recognition of successful use cases.

  • Design and implement technical frameworks for integrating AI tools into software development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering best practices.

  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to evaluate coding agents against standardized engineering tasks across multiple Mail teams.

  • Measure and optimize the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of AI tool deployments.

  • Stay at the forefront of AI advancements, identifying emerging technologies and opportunities that create strategic and competitive advantages.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with latest AI tech - Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with proven expertise across multiple programming languages and paradigms

  • Deep hands-on experience with AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI model capabilities/limitations

  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern software development workflows

  • Proven ability to drive technical initiatives across large engineering organizations 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to create compelling narratives for different audiences

The compensation for this position ranges from $143,625.00 - $299,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
