We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to implement, maintain, and support our enterprise IT infrastructure consisting of Windows and Linux systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing servers, identity services, virtualization platforms, endpoint systems, and security controls while demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve operational efficiency.
The Systems Administrator will play a key role in ensuring system availability, performance, security, and reliability while collaborating with IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to deliver effective technology solutions.
Responsibilities
Systems Administration
Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux server environments.
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and authentication services.
Perform server installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.
Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability.
Troubleshoot complex operating system, application, and infrastructure issues.
Maintain enterprise workstations, servers, and endpoint management solutions.
Virtualization & Infrastructure
Manage VMware vSphere, Horizon, or other virtualization platforms.
Deploy and maintain virtual machines, templates, snapshots, and resource allocation.
Support storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Perform system recovery testing and validate backup integrity.
Cloud & Enterprise Applications
Support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity synchronization, and cloud-based authentication.
Assist with hybrid infrastructure and cloud migration initiatives.
Automation & Process Improvement
Develop and maintain PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts to automate administrative tasks.
Improve operational efficiency through automation, documentation, and standardization.
Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles.
Security & Compliance
Implement security best practices across servers, endpoints, and applications.
Apply operating system patches, security updates, and vulnerability remediation.
Manage endpoint security tools, encryption technologies, and access controls.
Support audits, compliance requirements, and cybersecurity initiatives.
Support & Collaboration
Provide Tier 1 & 2 escalation support for complex technical issues.
Collaborate with network, security, and application teams.
Participate in after-hours maintenance activities and incident response when required.
Mentor & Leadership
Functions as a go-to SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the site's Sys Admins and/or become a Lead IT OPS person for the site - functioning as a last-line-of-defense answer person for an assigned team
Operate as a primary contact for the infrastructure, deployment, and Engineering tools teams to assist with performing technical design, planning, implementation, and high-level performance tuning of Windows / Linux OS and application servers and workstations tools.
Write technical documentation and troubleshooting guides on process & procedures for how to rollout solutions for all lower-level Sys Admin personnel to follow.
Maintain a central repository of above documentation and software tools that all Sys Admins are made aware of and utilize consistently, to follow and adhere to standard processes.
Provide final tier troubleshooting of server and desktop application functionality when lower-level Sys Admin personnel need assistance.
Mentor / train up-and-coming admins that show proficiency to help them obtain the level of principal admin over time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Ability to obtain a US government secret clearance
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or ability to obtain within 6 months for hire
  • 7 or more years of relevant System Administration experience and a minimum of a high school diploma
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise Windows Server environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows troubleshooting.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Horizon.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Experience administering Linux distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with vulnerability management platforms.
  • Experience supporting regulated or highly available environments.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
