Join the team bringing advanced autonomy to the built world

At Bedrock, we're moving AI out of the lab and into the real world. Our team includes veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. Today, we're deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction equipment across the country, improving safety on job sites and accelerating schedules on critical infrastructure projects.
We're not here debating the future of AI. We're deploying it in the real world. In just two years, we've raised $350M and achieved the first fully autonomous excavator deployments in construction.
This is where algorithms meet steel-toed boots. You'll work alongside construction veterans and world-class engineers to solve physical-world problems that simulations can't touch. If you're ready to do meaningful work on hard problems, we'd love to have you join us.

The Role

As the AI/ML Recruiter at Bedrock Robotics, you'll lead end-to-end recruiting for our most critical technical and leadership roles as we bring advanced autonomy to the $13 trillion construction industry. You'll partner directly with engineering leadership and our founding team to identify and close world-class talent in AI/ML and robotics, and help shape how we hire as we scale autonomous construction equipment across the U.S.

You’ll hunt and close the AI/ML researchers, perception engineers, and autonomy scientists that top AI labs are fighting over, through real relationships in academic labs, conference circuits (NeurIPS, CVPR, ICLR, ICRA), and the spinout ecosystem, not LinkedIn searches. You'll need enough technical fluency to hold your own with a computer vision PhD, spot breakout talent before it's obvious, and earn respect.

And you'll need to close like it matters: know which candidates are at risk, why offers stall, and when to step in, whether that's pulling in leadership, resetting the comp story, or creating urgency. Losing a top-1% hire to OpenAI or Anthropic over process lag isn't an option.

What You'll Do
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for AI/ML, perception, and robotics roles, partnering directly with engineering leadership and founders on hiring strategy

  • Own technical Leadership searches

  • Build and use AI-powered recruiting tools to source faster and keep pipeline data clean

  • Run compensation strategy and offer negotiation for niche AI/ML and robotics specialties, using market intelligence from tech and construction

  • Represent Bedrock at technical conferences and robotics meetups to build our employer brand

  • Partner with leadership to scale recruiting operations and mentor future recruiters as the team grows

What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with a track record of winning talent away from competitive AI/ML, robotics, and autonomous systems companies

  • Deep technical fluency in AI/ML, computer vision, perception, motion planning, reinforcement learning, and model architecture, enough to evaluate research quality and engineering depth

  • Advanced sourcing skills across Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, research papers, and technical community networks, backed by fluency with AI-powered recruiting tools

  • A data-driven approach to pipeline health and market intelligence

  • Strong negotiation skills for offers involving equity, relocation, and competing startup opportunities

Location Requirements
  • San Francisco Bay Area based, hybrid, 2-3x per week in office

  • Regular in-person collaboration with engineering teams and leadership

  • Occasional travel for conferences, industry events, and partnership meetings

Preferred Background
  • Previous recruiting experience in AI, at top AI labs, autonomous vehicle companies, or robotics startups

  • Understanding of safety-critical software development and hardware-software integration

  • Network within AI/ML research communities and the autonomous systems industry

  • Experience scaling recruiting operations in high-growth startup environments

  • Industry knowledge of construction technology or industrial automation
