Role Overview

OpenAI is seeking an experienced Private Equity Partnership Manager to help manage relationships with leading private equity firms, support AI adoption across their portfolio companies, and partner internally with stakeholders across Sales, AI Deployment, Solution Engineering, and Revenue Operations.

We believe AI will play a transformative role in how organizations operate, compete, and grow. In this role, you will act as a senior advisor to investment firms and portfolio executives, helping them understand how to responsibly deploy AI technologies and realize meaningful business outcomes.

This role blends strategic partnership, executive engagement, and technical fluency. You will collaborate closely with sales, technical, and customer success teams to support successful customer adoption of OpenAI products, including ChatGPT Enterprise, Codex, and APIs.

What You’ll Do

Build and manage senior sponsor relationships
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for private equity firms and senior operating leaders

  • Support executive-level conversations around AI strategy, value creation, and transformation

  • Represent OpenAI in meetings, events, and industry forums

Support portfolio-level AI adoption
  • Help portfolio companies identify high-impact AI use cases aligned with business priorities

  • Coordinate enablement activities such as executive briefings, workshops, and learning sessions

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure customers receive the right technical and deployment support

Drive successful customer outcomes
  • Work with sales and technical teams to support complex customer engagements

  • Contribute to business case development, stakeholder alignment, and adoption planning

  • Help ensure smooth transitions from initial engagement through deployment and expansion; define, measure and achieve shared KPIs with private equity firms

Collaborate cross-functionally
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across sales, engineering, customer success, marketing, and operations

  • Share insights and feedback from customers to help inform product and go-to-market improvements

  • Contribute to internal best practices for working with investment firms and their portfolios

What Success Looks Like
  • Strong, trusted relationships with private-equity sponsors and portfolio executives

  • Strong, trusted relationships with internal stakeholders across Sales, AI Deployment, Solution Engineering, and Revenue Operations

  • Increased adoption and successful use of OpenAI products across portfolio companies

  • Clear internal alignment and effective coordination across teams supporting these customers

  • Consistent delivery of value-driven, repeatable customer engagements

  • Define, measure and achieve shared KPIs with private equity firms

Qualifications

Required
  • Significant experience working with private equity firms, portfolio companies, or complex enterprise customers

  • Background in strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, consulting, or go-to-market leadership

  • Experience engaging with C-suite and senior executives as a trusted advisor

  • Strong ability to translate technical capabilities into clear business outcomes

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and a track record of driving complex programs to execution

  • Outstanding verbal communication and facilitation skills, including delivering engaging presentations, workshops, or webinars to large senior and executive audiences

  • High attention to detail and operational rigor, with the ability to drive clarity and execution through precise written communication and effective cross-functional collaboration

Preferred
  • Experience with cloud, software, or AI platforms

  • Exposure to large-scale enablement programs or ecosystem-based GTM models

  • Familiarity working across sales, technical, and customer success organizations

  • Experience as an operator, advisor, or investor is a plus

Travel
