Job Description

We are seeking a Procurement Director to build and lead a modern, strategic procurement function that supports Acumatica’s scale, growth, and operational maturity.

This is not a transactional purchasing role. It is a leadership role focused on creating leverage for the business through disciplined sourcing, strong commercial judgment, and clear accountability for spend. The Procurement Director will help shape how the company makes investment decisions and partners across functions.

Reporting to the CFO, this role owns enterprise-wide procurement strategy across software, cloud infrastructure, professional services, marketing, and corporate spend. They will work closely with Finance, IT, Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Marketing and People teams to ensure we are investing intentionally, negotiating effectively, and operating with transparency.

This is a builder role for someone who is comfortable operating at altitude, moving between strategy and execution, creating structure where little exists today, and bringing a clear point of view on how procurement should enable better decisions rather than slow them down.

This is a role for someone who isn’t afraid to build, move between detail and strategy with ease, and serve as a true thought partner to senior leadership. The right person will raise the bar for how we operate and help shape the next chapter of Acumatica’s growth.

This role reports to the CFO and we're open to hire remotely in the US.

Responsabilities:

• Build and own Acumatica’s end-to-end procurement function, including strategy, policies, operating cadence, and decision frameworks.

• Establish clear, scalable processes that provide visibility into vendor spend, contract terms, renewals, and ownership, while balancing speed, control, and accountability.

• Lead strategic sourcing and end-to-end commercial negotiations across SaaS, cloud infrastructure, IT services, and other critical vendors, including pricing, contract structure, terms, SLAs, and exit provisions.

• Rationalize and actively manage the vendor portfolio by reducing tool sprawl, strengthening senior-level vendor relationships, and holding partners accountable for performance and delivered value.

• Partner with Finance to ensure procurement decisions are tightly connected to budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans, with clear visibility into financial impact.

• Drive value creation through disciplined cost optimization and rigorous business cases for major investments and renewals, including clear alternatives and tradeoffs.

• Partner closely with IT, Security, Product, Engineering, and Legal to ensure vendor decisions meet technical, security, and compliance requirements.

• Act as a thought partner to functional leaders by surfacing total cost of ownership, second-order impacts, and the right questions before spend is committed.

• Ensure appropriate diligence for new vendors, including financial stability, security posture, contractual risk, and regulatory considerations.

• Establish clear governance and ownership for vendor relationships and contracts post-signature, maintaining ongoing compliance with data privacy and security requirements

• Establish a culture of ownership, responsiveness, and practical problem-solving.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, with significant exposure to SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or technology-driven organizations.

• Proven experience negotiating complex software and services agreements with large and mid-sized vendors.

• Strong understanding of SaaS economics, cloud pricing models, licensing structures, and renewal dynamics.

• Track record of building procurement processes or functions in growing operationally complex environments.

• Ability to balance commercial rigor with strong cross-functional relationships.

• Comfort operating with ambiguity and creating structure where none exists.

• Strong judgment, executive communication skills, and a bias toward action.

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
