IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a Product and Content Marketing Lead to join our fun and growing team. In this role, you’ll be a key driver of go-to-market planning and execution for our flagship product, IXL, helping shape how new features and updates are introduced to educators, parents, and students. You’ll own high-impact launches, craft compelling messaging and content, and lead a small team of content and product marketers—while continuing to grow your skills as a strategic marketer and people leader.#LI-GW1

Our ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator who is creative, organized, proactive, and passionate about IXL’s mission to impact education. This position is specifically designed for someone looking to step into greater ownership, continue growing their leadership skills through direct mentorship, and build a career with a rapidly growing company.

This is a full-time position in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office. The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday in the office with the option to work from home one day per week.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Develop go-to-market (GTM) strategy for new releases and updates
  • Project-manage GTM process for many product launches
  • Write and develop marketing content, including but not limited to: messaging and positioning documents, emails, web copy, print collateral, blog posts, case studies, and more
  • Develop and drive campaigns to increase awareness and use of the product’s features by existing customers
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to devise creative ways to reach potential customers and to deepen our engagement with existing users
  • Work with colleagues from various teams, including product managers and graphic designers, to coordinate and implement projects from start to finish
  • Work to ensure seamless communication flows between Product and Marketing, and between Marketing and customer-facing teams
  • Assist with product/messaging training for Sales/customer-facing teams
  • Manage and mentor a team of three content and product marketing associates, providing guidance, feedback, and growth support
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • BA/BS degree and 6-9 years of solid marketing experience in a professional environment
  • 1+ years of people management experience
  • Customer focus: You have deep empathy for your customers and can deftly balance business outcomes with customer outcomes
  • Verbal communication: You communicate effectively with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, and ask strategic questions to determine what's needed
  • Written communication: You are an exceptional writer and editor who knows how to clearly communicate a message and make every word count. You can switch easily from writing messaging about a new product feature, to crafting an impactful marketing email, to developing a lighthearted blog post
  • Interpersonal skills: You’re a team player, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • You get things done: You’re a self starter, detail- and deadline-oriented, organized, resourceful, and adaptable. You have proven skills managing cross-functional projects from start to finish
  • Strategic thinking: You consider an idea from all angles, ask smart questions of your colleagues and collaborators, and make thoughtful decisions that align with the company’s needs, mission, and resources
  • A strong operator: You quickly identify opportunities for efficiencies and can create and evolve workflows that’ll help you collaborate effectively across teams while bringing the IXL brand to life
  • You have knowledge of, or an interest in, education/edtech and can learn about the industry quickly  
  • Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is a plus

The base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 to $160,000 + benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
