Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow revenue, and accelerate new opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. We have a staggering amount of work ahead, which means you’ll have a rare opportunity to help make the global economy accessible to everyone—while doing the most impactful work of your career.

About the Team

Our internship program is structured to provide interns with the opportunity to work on real, legitimate projects that our customers urgently need. In this role you will be part of the Product Design team, which is made up of several groups that define, create, and deliver all user-facing aspects of Stripe’s product. Product Designers are strategic partners to Engineering and Product Management within their product area. In close collaboration with product teams, they shape user experiences, then translate them into high-quality designs that can be tested, shipped, and refined. Designers are responsible for building elegant, functional products that users love—and want to tell others about.

What You'll Do

As a Product Design Intern, you will focus on designing and building experiences that will be shipped to our users in production. You will contribute design iterations to ongoing project workstreams, tackling important projects to increase global commerce, and help shape brand new experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working on a product design project with a product team, translating business ideas into real experience.
  • Helping craft thoughtful experiences that enable startups and large businesses to establish and manage their businesses.
  • Applying problem-solving skills and human-centered approaches to address complex and ambiguous business and user problems.
  • Developing and refine design solutions by partnering closely with other designers.
  • Crafting and prototype visually polished experiences to get user feedback.
  • Partnering closely with engineering to implement a feature/product from design to implementation, and get it in the hands of our users.
  • Engage in group Design critiques and collaborative design sessions to improve and receive feedback on your work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineers, product managers, data scientists, and researchers, proactively seeking and incorporating feedback.
  • Understand and advocate for our users, participating in the design process from early concepts to final delivery.
Who You Are

We are seeking individuals who meet the minimum requirements below and are encouraged to apply, even if their experience does not precisely match every aspect of the job description. We welcome diverse perspectives and people who think rigorously.

Minimum Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a design-related field, such as UX/UI, Interaction Design, Human Interface, Computer Science,  HCI, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience designing experiences and user flows.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar systems, form an understanding through independent research, and effectively work with a mentor and teammates.
  • Are a self-motivated problem solver committed to personal growth.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to participate in a paid full-time internship between May–September. This is typically a 12-week program during summer 2026.

  • Experience working with or conducting your own research, presenting results, and acting on those results.
  • Experience with AI tools like Cursor, Lovable, V0, or any others.
