Who we are

In the past, to be a successful restaurateur, you simply had to have a passion for food and a passion for people - but to succeed as a digital restaurateur you also need to have a passion for technology. We believe in the joy of serving others, and that's why we created Otter – to help restaurateurs succeed in online food delivery. Restaurants around the world, both large and small, including Chick-fil-A, Ben & Jerry’s, KFC, and Eataly trust our software to power their delivery business. We increase sales, reduce order issues, and decrease delivery headaches.

What you will do

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead design for our Menus team. Can you imagine a restaurant without a Menu? Menus product is a foundational part of the Otter platform that enables restaurants to create, manage, and optimize their menus across delivery services and order channels.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Crafting end-to-end experiences that power the heart of every restaurant's digital presence — their menu. You'll shape how menus are created, managed, and optimized across our platform to drive revenue and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborating deeply with product managers, engineers, and operations to launch features that simplify complex workflows like pricing, availability, item setup, and modifier configurations — all while keeping scale and usability at the forefront.
  • Participating in design critiques and cross-functional reviews to refine ideas, gather rapid feedback, and iterate on high-impact solutions that balance user needs with business goals.
  • Enhancing the Menus experience by contributing to our design system and evolving core patterns that support consistency across restaurant tools — from item-level controls to multi-brand management.
  • Championing user-centered design by advocating for the needs of restaurant operators, delivery staff, and internal teams, while navigating technical constraints and business trade-offs with clarity and conviction.

This role is ideal for a systems thinker who’s energized by operational complexity, obsessive about details, and motivated by the opportunity to build foundational tools that make restaurants more successful every day.

What we’re looking for

  • You have 7+ years of experience in product or UX design
  • Ability to be a strategic partner by understanding the competitive environment and building a vision for how the product will fit in the market
  • Strong full-stack design skills; from interaction design to visual design to system thinking, and everything in between.
  • Proven track record in building products from the ground up and working effectively with cross-functional partners
  • Solid communication skills and ability to effectively prioritize projects
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and make sound judgements based on user data, insights and business objectives
  • A deep curiosity and passion for the food industry, translating into innovative designs that change the way we think about how meals make it on a plate

Why join us

  • Demand for online food delivery is growing really fast! In the last 5 years, just in the US, the overall market has expanded 10X from $10B to $100B, and could expand to $500bn- $1T by 2030.
  • Changing the restaurant industry: You’ll be part of a team that helps restaurants succeed in online food delivery.
  • Collaborative environment: You will receive support and guidance from experienced colleagues and managers, helping you to learn, grow and achieve your goals, and you’ll work closely with other teams to ensure our customer’s success.

What else you need to know

This role is based in our Mountain View office. As a company driven by innovation and continuous change, close collaboration is essential. We’re constantly reimagining our industry, creating new products, and refining our processes, and we do our best work together. That’s why all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week.

The base salary range for this role is $182,000 - 230,000 per year.

Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.
