About Us

At Sydecar, we're not just a platform; we're a trusted partner in venture capital. We're dedicated to simplifying and standardizing the private investing experience, empowering capital allocators to discover and support visionary entrepreneurs who are shaping the future.

Our platform is designed with ease and efficiency in mind. We take care of all the behind-the-scenes tasks, from automating banking, ensuring compliance, handling contracts, managing taxes, to streamlining reporting. This leaves investors the freedom to concentrate on what matters most: making valuable deals and nurturing meaningful relationships.

Join us at Sydecar, as we lead the charge in revolutionizing private investing.

About the role

We're hiring a Product Designer to own the end-to-end design features and experiences as we scale our product experience. This is a high-ownership, high-execution role for a designer who wants to continue building strong fundamentals: taking a feature from problem framing through shipped experience, working within an established design system, and partnering closely with product, engineering, and stakeholders.

You’ll play a central role in shaping user experiences through deep user research, strong design judgment, and exceptional communication.

Our product operates in a regulated environment, serving a broad range of customers from first-time investors and deal organizers to large venture capital firms. Success in this role requires balancing compliance and regulatory constraints with delivering a best-in-class, intuitive experience for complex financial workflows.
This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco or New York City with in-office attendance of two to three days per week.

What you'll do

Own features end-to-end

  • Own UX tradeoffs within your features, and flag scope issues to your PM early

  • Personally drive design on high-impact initiatives, from discovery through delivery

  • Simplify complex, regulated workflows into clear, intuitive experiences that create trust for our customers

  • Maintain a high bar for design quality while operating with startup speed

Do feature-level research

  • Lead research at the feature level and proactively look for opportunities to talk to customers

  • Partner with Product to test assumptions and validate solutions before and after build

  • Act as a voice of the customer in roadmap and prioritization discussions as well as on specific initiatives

  • Bring qualitative and quantitative signal into your design decisions

Build craft and technical fluency

  • Apply and extend Sydecar's design system consistently

  • Design within platform constraints, and learn to spot them earlier over time

  • Design systems and flows that support trust, accuracy, and clarity for investors, deal organizers, and internal users

Collaborate well

  • Proactively share and validate work with stakeholders following team best practices

  • Adapt to feedback gracefully and give focused, articulate critique in return

  • Build direct working relationships with Product and Engineering partners on your feature

Build domain fluency

  • Learn core SPV workflows: closing, KYC, cap tables

  • Build a working understanding of how regulatory and compliance constraints shape design decisions

  • Identify opportunities to create more joyful and high-value experiences

What we're looking for
  • 4+ years of product design experience

  • Exceptionally strong hands-on design skills, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX ownership and designs

  • Strong experience designing complex workflows, multi-step processes, or system-heavy products

  • Comfortable working within and extending an existing design system rather than starting from scratch

  • Experience partnering directly with Product. Engineers, and stakeholders to scope, define, and ship features

  • Strong communication skills, and comfortable giving and receiving direct critique

  • Deep experience leading and applying user research to drive strategy and execution

  • Curiosity about fintech, regulated industries, or complex/system-heavy products (prior experience a plus, not required)

  • Data-informed, with a bias toward shipping and iterating

Sydecar’s values

Our values are important to the way we live and work at Sydecar. They guide our priorities, behaviors and interactions.

Be Committed

As a team, we rise to meet challenges and recognize that we become stronger and develop character when facing adversity.

Be Excellent

We measure our success not just by what we achieve, but by how we achieve it—through integrity, creativity, elegance, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Excellence is not just doing things well—it's looking for ways to do them better.

Be Humble

Humility is our key to personal and professional growth. We appreciate that great ideas can come from anywhere, regardless of seniority, pedigree, or experience. We care more about collective outcomes than who gets credit or who does what. We try to not let our ego cloud our judgment.

Win Together

Winning is no accident. It is the result of collective hard work, perseverance, sacrifice, and most of all, loving what we do. Winning requires that we give extra—sometimes winning calls for late nights or extra effort, and we show up for clients and each other with urgency and heart. While excellence is a journey, winning is a destination.
