Who We Are

Serval is an AI-native automation platform transforming how enterprises operate. We build intelligent agents that understand real-world workflows and execute them end-to-end — replacing manual processes and rigid legacy systems with adaptive, learning software. Founded in early 2024, Serval is already trusted by companies like Fox, Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, and Brex to automate high-volume, high-friction operational work across their organizations.
At the core of Serval is an agentic AI platform that turns natural language into production-grade workflows. Our agents don’t just respond to requests — they reason, take action across systems, and continuously improve with usage. What began with operational use cases has quickly evolved into a horizontal AI automation layer used across IT, HR, Finance, Security, Legal, and Engineering.
Our mission is to eliminate repetitive, manual work across the enterprise and give teams leverage through intelligent automation. Long term, we’re building the universal AI operations layer — a system of agents that sits across business functions and runs the workflows that keep modern companies moving.
We’re backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Meritech, First Round, General Catalyst, Elad Gil, and others.

Role Overview

As Product Designer, you’ll be working closely with the founding team to build the Serval platform from the ground up. Our vision is centered around usability, and you’ll be challenged to create intuitive and beautiful interactions that unlock powerful automation capabilities.

This role is based in San Francisco, California, and requires in-person presence.

What You'll Do
  • Deeply understand a complex problem space and forge simple, elegant design solutions.

  • Generate your own ideas, and drive collaborative processes to elicit ideas from your teammates.

  • Move fast to explore those ideas via mockups, interactive prototypes, and usability testing with customers.

  • Work with engineering to understand the technical constraints of a project, and make pragmatic tradeoffs on your designs.

  • Craft your designs through every stage of the process: From exploratory concept through pixel-perfect, shipped UI.

  • Build the foundations of a flexible and scalable design system.

  • Support development of early brand content, including logo and landing page.

What You'll Need
  • You have 5+ years experience as an in-house product designer, preferably designing full applications end-to-end.

  • You have experience designing and prototyping in Figma.

  • You like thinking about complex problems, and enjoy exploring the ambiguity inherent to defining a new product category.

  • You care about the details of your work, and love crafting pixel-perfect UI.

  • You like collaborating with other design-minded teammates in product and engineering.

  • You like shipping, and are willing to make hard tradeoffs in order to get features in the hands of customers.

  • You like impact, seeing how your work makes peoples’ lives better and moves business metrics.

  • You’re a self-starter, who can proactively identify opportunities for impact even when they’re not assigned to you.

  • You enjoy collaboration and feedback, can give constructive and respectful critiques of others’ work, and can explain the reasoning behind your design decisions and opinions.

  • You’re comfortable in a high-growth startup, can balance many simultaneous projects, and thrive in fast-paced environments.

Nice to Have
  • Previous experience as a founding or early product designer at a startup.

  • Previous experience with B2B SaaS tools.

What We Offer
  • Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company.
