  • Exceptional ability to simplify complex technical workflows into intuitive, elegant product experiences

  • Experience owning product design end-to-end, from user research and problem definition through wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and shipped product

  • Strong systems thinking and comfort designing for complex information architecture, workflows, permissions, data, and decision-making interfaces

  • Ability to work cross-functionally across product, engineering, design, sales, and leadership with high ownership

  • Excellent visual, interaction, and written communication skills

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping build design practices from 0 to 1

  • Familiarity with AI/ML, fraud, compliance, risk, Trust & Safety, case management, investigations, or enterprise operations preferred, but not necessary

What You’ll Do
  • Own product design for core workflows across the Variance platform

  • Translate complex AI, data, and investigation workflows into simple, trusted, and highly usable product experiences

  • Partner closely with founders, product, and engineering to define product strategy, user flows, and feature requirements

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and design systems components that help the team move quickly and consistently

  • Conduct customer and user research to understand operator workflows, pain points, and decision-making needs

  • Design interfaces that help users review cases, investigate risk, understand AI outputs, and take action with confidence

  • Collaborate with go-to-market teams to ensure product experiences support enterprise customer needs and sales conversations

  • Help establish Variance’s design culture, principles, and processes as the company scales
