Why this role / Why now

At Vori, we’re building the modern operating system for grocery. We’re now layering in agentic AI capabilities to transform how retailers and suppliers work from automating routine data wrangling to enabling proactive decision-making.

As a Product Engineer, you’ll own implementation of these AI features. That means collaborating with product and design on customer needs, prototyping with LLMs and orchestration frameworks, integrating with core services, and shipping production-ready systems that drive measurable impact.

You’ll also play a key role in improving developer velocity at Vori helping the broader product, design, and engineering org learn how to leverage AI tools effectively and responsibly in their day-to-day work.

What you’ll do
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and customers to identify high-value AI use cases.

  • Prototype and refine agentic AI workflows (reasoning, planning, tool use) and integrate them into the Vori platform.

  • Support full stack of implementation from backend orchestration and data pipelines to customer-facing UI/UX.

  • Define metrics and feedback loops to ensure AI features deliver trustworthy, high-quality outcomes.

  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI/LLM tools, frameworks, and APIs to accelerate product and engineering velocity.

  • Improve internal developer workflows by applying AI to areas like prototyping, debugging, testing, and documentation.

  • Teach and enable product, design, and engineering partners to use AI effectively setting patterns, best practices, and guardrails rather than one-off hacks.

  • Help evolve Vori’s internal standards for agentic development, including tooling, infrastructure, and review processes.

What we’re looking for
  • 3–6+ years experience as a full-stack or product-focused engineer.

  • Strong full-stack coding ability.

  • Strong data engineering and analysis ability.

  • Depth of knowledge working with technologies such as LLM APIs, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, MCP, RAG, and event-driven architectures.

  • A maker’s mindset: you thrive on prototyping, iterating quickly, and owning features from zero → one → scale.

  • Strong display of customer empathy; you care about usability and outcomes, not just technical novelty.

  • Interest in raising the bar for how teams build, not just what they build.

Why Vori
  • Mission-driven team building tech that helps local businesses thrive

  • Backed by top investors and advisors from Stripe, Uber, Palantir, and Toast

  • Real revenue, real growth, and a massive market opportunity
