Who We Are

Workhelix is a tech-enabled services company with a single goal: helping organizations get the most out of their AI investments.

Our people and software combine to give leaders answers to the three critical questions about the business value of AI:

  • Where are our top opportunities to create value with AI?
  • Are our current efforts actually delivering? What’s their ROI?
  • How can we accelerate and increase the benefits of our AI?

To find answers for each customer, Workhelix applies our unmatched expertise in economics, AI, and data science. We have pioneered a task-scoring method to identify top GenAI opportunities, ensuring clear, data-driven deployment strategies. Our ROI monitoring suite applies Nobel Prize-winning economics to provide accurate, ongoing insights into the impact of GenAI implementations. Renowned AI and Economics thinkers including Andrew Ng, and cofounders Andy McAfee and Erik Brynjolfsson stand proudly behind our mission.

We maintain a culture established on five key principles. For more information on our leadership principles, please visit the careers page of our website.

Role

We're hiring a Product Engineer to join our team and help us scale reliably as we grow. As we add customers, we want to make sure our team's ability to build great new features never gets compromised. This role exists to protect that focus: by strengthening how we catch and resolve issues, and by building the infrastructure that keeps quality high as we scale.

You'll work across our FastAPI (Python) / Postgres / React stack, touching everything from schema design to UI behavior to CI pipelines. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role for someone who wants real ownership early in their career.

Key responsibilities

  • Triage and resolve incoming customer bugs across single-tenant staging and production environments
  • Work alongside the team to design and build new features and capabilities on our main product
  • Design and build automated test suites that scale across customer environments without becoming their own maintenance burden
  • Work across the full stack (Python/FastAPI backend, Postgres, React frontend) to understand and fix issues at their root cause, not just their symptom

What We Value

  • Analytical thinkers who thrive in ambiguous environments and approach challenges with curiosity and rigor.
  • A customer-centric mindset with a passion for translating complex data into software-led actionable strategies.
  • Team players with low ego and a strong desire to contribute to meaningful outcomes.
  • Proactive learners who adapt quickly and can guide, lead, and collaborate effectively.
  • Exceptional communicators who can engage with stakeholders at every level.

What you bring

  • 2+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience; comfort with Python and React strongly preferred, but we're open to strong candidates from other OOP backgrounds
  • Real SQL fluency. You understand schema design, and you can reason about ingestion to transformation to output pipelines, and the difference between a clean and a messy data model
  • A systems mindset. You naturally zoom out and notice when something upstream or downstream of your own work is drifting out of sync
  • A bias toward pragmatic delivery. You scope before you dive in, break work into shippable increments, and ship at the pace a fast-moving company requires without over-engineering
  • Genuine product and user judgment. You care what the user actually experiences, and you'll question a ticket that looks wrong rather than build it as written
  • Low ego, high standards. You care more about the quality of the outcome than who gets credit, and you take feedback in review without getting defensive
  • Strong collaborative instincts and async communication. You loop people in early, and you write clearly in Slack, PRs, and EOD updates
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity. You're energized rather than destabilized when priorities shift, and you go deep on problems because you can't help it
