The Data Product  Engineering Manager owns the lifecycle of data products built on the lakehouse platform. Acting as the bridge between business consumers and technical teams, this role drives the definition, prioritization, and delivery of trusted, well-documented data products that enable analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  Define and own the data product roadmap aligned to business priorities and OKRs  

  Work with business stakeholders to identify, capture, and prioritize data product requirements  

  Develop data product specifications, including schemas, SLAs, access controls, and documentation  

  Collaborate with data engineers to ensure timely and quality delivery of data products  

  Establish and track KPIs for data product usage, quality, and business value delivered  

  Manage the data product catalog and metadata to enable discoverability and self-service  

  Lead data product sprint planning, backlog grooming, capacity management,and release management  

  Serve as the primary point of contact for data consumers across business domains  

  Drive adoption of the data product framework and advocate for data-as-a-product culture  

  Coordinate with governance, infosec, and compliance teams to ensure product-level policies are enforced  

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  7+ years in a product management, data management, or analytics role  

  3+ years managing data products in a modern data lakehouse or data warehouse environment  

  Strong understanding of data modeling, data lineage, and metadata management  

  Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product lifecycle tools (Jira, Confluence)  

  Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and SQL proficiency 

  Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills  

  Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field  

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  Experience with DataHub, Apache Atlas, or Alation for data cataloging  

  Knowledge of data mesh and domain-oriented data ownership models  

  Certifications: CDMP, PMP, or Agile Product Owner

The base salary range for this position in is $130K-$150K/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
