💻 RoleWhatnot is looking for thoughtful, experienced Product Managers to help shape the strategy, vision, and execution of key initiatives across our marketplace ranging from improving selling formats and inventory management to building ads & promotion tools and scaling our core platform.
We hire PMs who enjoy working across different parts of the business, collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and operators to solve meaningful problems for our users and community.
We’re looking for someone who brings strong product intuition, a love for building, and a drive to create simple, impactful experiences that make Whatnot better every day.
We’re remote-first, but this role requires being within commuting distance of one of our office hubs: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City.
You will:
Drive the product roadmap, product strategy and execution for a given problem space, balancing short and long-term goals.
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, data science, and operations to bring new features and systems to life.
Translate complex problems into clear requirements and simple, high-quality user experiences.
Establish product metrics and experimentation frameworks to validate performance and user impact.
Communicate progress, insights, and priorities across teams and stakeholders.
Help the team stay focused and move efficiently, removing blockers and ensuring alignment.
Contribute to the growth and evolution of Whatnot’s product culture and processes.
People who do well at Whatnot tend to be comfortable figuring things out as they go, biased toward action, and genuinely curious about what they're building. They care more about outcomes than credit and stay close to the product and the people using it.
8+ years of product management experience, ideally in fast-moving consumer or marketplace environments.
A track record of shipping complex, technical systems or large-scale consumer products.
Deep empathy for users and a passion for delivering outstanding user experiences and driving adoption of products.
Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with data, hypotheses, and experimentation.
A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution — able to zoom in and out as needed.
Experience partnering with design and data science; proficiency with SQL is a plus.
For US-based applicants: $240,000/year to $275,000/year + benefits + equity.
The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below) or equity.

Parental Leave
