About the Team

The Core Identity team builds the identity and account foundations that let individuals use OpenAI securely, reliably, and at scale. The Core Identity team owns authentication, account lifecycle, access controls, and the core account security and management tools. Our work protects user data and makes personalized AI safely accessible across products, making sure your OpenAI identity works seamlessly across our family of applications.

About the Role

As OpenAI scales rapidly we need to build the platform that empowers people to create, manage and control their identities across our suite of products. We are looking for a product manager to lead this charge and build a world-class identity platform for OpenAI’s products. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, security, GTM, and customer-facing teams to ensure our identity systems are powerful and secure.

This position is based in San Francisco, CA. We utilize a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Build the core user account and authentication experiences that power all OpenAI products.

  • Translate identity needs across OpenAI’s product suite (ChatGPT, API, Codex, Sora) into prioritized product requirements.

  • Build the next generation of products that empower people to control how their accounts and data are accessed.

  • Define and track metrics for adoption, reliability, and security posture.

  • Build tools that enable secure integrations with third-party services.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 8+ years of product management or related industry experience, ideally in identity or security products.

  • Can translate technical identity concepts into clear customer value and align diverse stakeholders toward a shared vision.

  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, leadership, and execution skills in cross-functional environments.

  • Are energized by building secure, scalable infrastructure that enables enterprises to confidently adopt frontier AI.
