About the Team:

Taara extends and amplifies global communications infrastructure using beams of light to deliver high-speed connectivity. Born at X, Google’s moonshot factory, Taara works with telecommunications providers, partners, and internal teams to plan, deploy, and operate optical wireless networks around the world.

As Taara scales deployments and evolves its products, we are looking for a Data Center Product Manager to define and evolve products that enable high-capacity, reliable connectivity within and between data centers and network facilities.

About the Role:

This role, Product Manager: Data Centers, focuses on shaping Taara’s products for data center and infrastructure use cases. You will work closely with engineering, UX design, and customer-facing teams to translate real-world networking infrastructure needs into clear product requirements. Your work will ensure Taara’s connectivity solutions meet the performance, availability, and scalability expectations of data center environments. This work is suited for someone comfortable working with data center topologies, multiple connectivity needs in data centers - rack to rack, intrarack, building to building, and data center to point of presence, network constraints, and complex deployment environments.

How you will make 10x impact:

  • Own the product definition and evolution of products supporting data center and infrastructure connectivity use cases.

  • Translate customer, partner, and internal needs into clear product requirements, workflows, and roadmaps.

  • Define product requirements related to capacity, latency, availability, redundancy, scalability, and operational constraints.

  • Partner closely with engineering to balance technical feasibility, product performance, and deployment realities.

  • Define and track key product metrics related to performance, availability, adoption, and operational effectiveness.

  • Incorporate learnings from deployments and live environments into ongoing iteration and continuous improvement.Taara’s data center and infrastructure products meet enterprise expectations for availability, performance, and scalability.

  • Product requirements are clear and actionable, enabling engineering teams to build with confidence and minimal rework.

  • Deployments integrate smoothly into existing data center and network environments.

What you should have:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management for infrastructure, networking, or technical systems.

  • 2+ years in data center environment

  • 1+ years of experience building 0-1 products

  • Experience translating complex technical needs into clear product requirements and priorities.

  • Understanding connectivity needs within data center environments, network infrastructure, or large-scale technical systems.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, UX design, and customer-facing teams.

  • Experience using data, operational signals, and user feedback to inform product decisions.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain product decisions to diverse stakeholders.

  • Background in networking, telecom, cloud infrastructure, or related domain a plus.

  • Comfort operating in technically complex, ambiguous environments.

  • Ability to work in the Sunnyvale office at least 3 days per week.

It would be great if you also had these:

  • Familiarity with Optical circuit switching

  • Knowledge of Optical networking

  • Knowledge of existing high speed data center inter-connect technologies like Infini Band

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000-$220,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
