About Kinetic

Kinetic is on a mission to create a safer workplace and better life for the frontline workforce. Backed by Nationwide, we’re transforming workers’ comp with technology-driven solutions for injury prediction, prevention, and management—helping employers create safer, healthier workplaces. We also work directly with enterprise clients.

Our platform is built for labor intensive industries including parcel delivery, manufacturing, and wholesale/warehousing operations. From wearable tech that reduces strain and sprain injuries by over 60% to a tech-driven program that speeds up return-to-work and generative AI for claims management, we're redefining what workers' comp can do.

We’re a remote-first team headquartered in New York City, growing fast—10x in the past two years—and driven by accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. If you're excited to build a career with impact, we’d love to meet you.

Kinetic has been named to: Business Insurance's Best Place to Work in Insurance 2025.

The Role

Kinetic is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Product Manager to own the lifeblood of our business: data. This role goes beyond building pipelines — you will develop and execute a strategy to source, enrich, and scale the data that powers our AI-driven agents, customer-facing products, and internal intelligence.

You will work directly with senior leaders at Kinetic, as well as with carrier, broker & medical provider partners, to build integrations that are both technically sound and strategically valuable. With Nationwide Mutual as our anchor carrier and additional partners coming online soon, you will design a repeatable integration model that transforms data delivery into a growth driver — not just a back-office function.

This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to the C-Team. You’ll combine deep Workers’ Compensation expertise, strong product instincts, and startup scrappiness to ensure Kinetic’s data platform becomes the single source of truth for our ecosystem.

What you'll do:

Strategy & Partnerships

  • Develop a strategic roadmap for data integrations across carriers, brokers and medical providers, with Nationwide as the starting point.
  • Act as the business-facing voice with partners, framing data requests in terms of mutual value and outcomes — not just technical needs.
  • Champion richer data delivery, identifying opportunities for expanded scope (e.g., claims details, restrictions, payments) that drive product differentiation.
  • Establish integration as a partnership lever with carriers and brokers, supporting broader BD and growth goals.

Execution & Delivery

  • Own requirements for all inbound data, from clean APIs to CSV downloads, scraping, or AI agent enrichment — ensuring a resilient “data glue” that powers our source-of-truth.
  • Collaborate with internal business teams (Distribution, Underwriting, InsOps, and other Product PMs) to define, align, and prioritize the data needs that feed their workflows.
  • Translate non-technical business requirements into structured, actionable specifications for the data engineering team.
  • Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria that prevent engineering rework and close requirement gaps.
Partner with Data Engineering to build integrations that balance new pipelines, enhancements, and ongoing quality improvements.
  • Scale internal processes so that every new partner integration avoids the “one-off” trap.

Governance & Quality

  • Define data standards, validations, and “ground truth” requirements for Workers’ Compensation data.
  • Implement a robust framework for ongoing validation and monitoring of all data sources.
  • Ensure that Kinetic’s data foundation is strong enough to reduce reliance on AI agents filling gaps.

What you've done:

  • 5+ years in Product Management, Technical Product Management, or similar role.
  • Proven experience managing complex data integrations with insurance carriers or equivalent enterprise partners.
  • Strong domain expertise in Workers’ Compensation — you know what’s valuable in a claim file and how it drives outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert messy business needs into crisp technical requirements.
  • Experience working in startups or high-growth environments — comfortable rolling up your sleeves to build from scratch.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence internal leaders and external partners.

 Bonus points for:

  • Prior experience at an insurtech, MGA, or data-heavy startup.
  • Hands-on familiarity with a range of integration methods (APIs, SFTP, batch files, scraping, enrichment tools).
  • Direct collaboration with brokers or distribution partners on data workflows.

 What we offer:

  • This is a remote position with the expectation of periodically traveling domestically (1-2x per Quarter)
  • $150k-175k base salary plus equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 20 vacation days per year
  • 9 federal holidays off
  • Parental Leave
  • HSA with compatible health plans
  • 20% off Kindbody services including fertility and family-building
  • FREE: Health Advocate
  • FREE: Telehealth Membership
  • FREE: OneMedical Account

Security Notice: Kinetic is committed to a secure hiring process. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a comprehensive identity and background verification process. We will never ask for financial information or payment during the application process.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
