Job Description

Team & Reporting Structure

This role sits within the Visa University team, part of the VCA organization, and reports to the Sr. Director, Learning Systems.

Visa University is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Manager, Learning Systems to support the roadmap and help manage the ecosystem of learning technology platforms. Operating as a product manager, this role will collaborate closely with Learning Experience & Technology (LET) on platform strategy, architecture, integration, configuration, and reliability.

You are a strong communicator who works well with ambiguity and enjoys thinking strategically. You excel at partnering with stakeholders to help translate high-level vision into technical requirements. Your talent lies in asking the right questions, mapping out processes, and creating a clear, shared understanding between business and engineering teams. You will contribute to the learning systems roadmap through proactive collaboration and a solid understanding of both business needs and technology capabilities.

You will help execute the learning systems roadmap, support the selection and integration of platforms (LMS/LXP, content, data/reporting, SSO, e-commerce, classroom/virtual tools), and ensure solutions meet Visa’s standards for security, scalability, accessibility, and compliance. You will leverage your awareness of emerging AI technologies to optimize platform performance, automate processes, and deliver personalized learning experiences. The Manager will help translate requirements into solution designs, backlog items, and release plans. You will support business change management as well as the management of vendors, SLAs, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities:

Product & Roadmap Management:

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the learning systems roadmap aligned to enterprise architecture and business goals.
  • Support the identification and implementation of AI-driven features to improve system usability, increase sales, and learner engagement.
  • Help manage the ecosystem of learning platforms, including VU.com and off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Collaborate with LET on platform strategy, architecture, integration, and configuration.
  • Help translate business requirements into solution designs, backlog items, and release plans.

Platform Operations:

  • Support the selection, integration, configuration, and operation of LMS/LXP, content platforms, data/reporting, SSO, e-commerce, and classroom/virtual tools.
  • Ensure platforms meet Visa’s standards for security, scalability, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with vendors on SLAs, incident response, and change management.
  • Understand platform features and functionality and communicate best practices for usage to business users. Champion utilizing AI tools across all platforms for automating administrative tasks, predictive analytics, and overall improvement of productivity across the ecosystem.

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work cross-functionally with Visa University Product Team, LET, Technology, PMO, and other stakeholders to deliver learning systems projects.
  • Facilitate discovery whiteboarding sessions with stakeholders and product leaders in Foster City to elicit and understand business needs and use cases for learning technology.
  • Develop and visualize 'as-is' and 'to-be' process flows and solution designs to validate requirements with business stakeholders in a clear and easy-to-understand format.
  • Advocate for AI-enabled solutions during stakeholder discussions to address business challenges or streamline processes.
  • Help translate ambiguous or high-level business needs into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for agile engineering teams.
  • Support user acceptance testing and ensure successful implementation of technology solutions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in AI and learning technology and recommend enhancements.
  • Contribute to assessments of existing technology stack to identify opportunities for optimization. Monitor vendor enhancements and new offerings and recommend adoption of AI enhancements to improve system performance, learner experience, and operational processes.
  • Support user-centric design and continuous improvement of learner experience.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Hands-on experience in product management or business systems management roles, delivering enterprise learning technology solutions.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, writing user stories, creating process flows, and conducting gap/impact analysis.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA). Or rapid prototyping tools such as Replit, Bolt, or Figma.
  • Demonstrated experience in a consultative role, with the ability to influence and guide conversations with senior leadership (Director+).
  • Functional experience with learning technology domains and platforms. Especially experience leveraging AI-powered solutions in learning technology platforms.
  • Experience in business requirements analysis, including creating documentation for both business and technical audiences.
  • Experience managing vendors and technology integration.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 129,200.00 to 187,350.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
