ABOUT RETOOL
Nearly every company in the world runs on custom software for critical operations like tracking performance metrics, handling customer support workflows, building admin dashboards, and countless other processes you might not have even thought of. But most companies don't have adequate resources to properly invest in these tools, leading to a lot of old and clunky internal software or, even worse, users still stuck in manual and spreadsheet flows.

At Retool, we’re building the first enterprise AppGen platform: software that transforms natural language into production-ready code, integrates directly with business data, and meets the highest standards of security and governance. AI is redefining what it means to build software—and who gets to build it. The definition of “developer” now includes analysts, operators, and domain experts creating solutions directly. As the pool of builders widens, so does the complexity of what they need to build. The opportunity is enormous, but so is the challenge of enabling this larger community to build production-grade software safely. That means AI that understands real business data, enforces enterprise policies automatically, and empowers teams to create once and reuse everywhere with shared, trusted components.

Over 100 million hours of work has been automated by developers and domain experts using our platform, freeing them to focus on creative problem-solving and strategic initiatives that drive real business value. The people closest to knowing what needs to be built can now safely create custom solutions within enterprise guardrails. And that's a mission worth striving for.

Let's build the future together!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You’ll own Retool’s strategy for Reusability and Sharing—how customers build once and benefit everywhere. That means making Retool easier to use within organizations by enabling safe reuse of components, templates, data, and logic; and, over time, extending that value beyond them into a broader ecosystem of shared solutions.

You’ll define how Retool evolves from a tool-building platform to a network of builders and components, where customers can create, share, and remix trusted modules with the same confidence they have deploying code.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and product counterparts across the core Retool experience—especially UI & Logic, Data & Security, and Platform teams. You’ll also partner with GTM, Docs, and Developer Relations to help customers discover and adopt shared building blocks, and with leadership to shape the long-term product vision around the “Retool ecosystem.”

IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL
  • Define the long-term vision and roadmap for Reusability and Sharing across apps, workflows, and AI agents.
  • Develop the primitives—like shared components, libraries, templates, and prebuilt functions—that make reuse seamless and safe.
  • Design how teams collaborate within Retool: permissions, governance, and versioning models for shared assets.
  • Lay the groundwork for an eventual ecosystem of Retool-built and community-built modules, including external sharing and marketplace capabilities.
  • Partner with Data & Security to ensure shared assets meet enterprise compliance, audit, and provenance requirements.
  • Collaborate with GTM, DevRel, and Docs to drive discoverability, adoption, and evangelism of reusable building blocks.
  • Define metrics that capture compounding value across reuse (e.g., % of apps built using shared components, time-to-first-app, cross-team adoption).

THE SKILLSET YOU’LL BRING
  • 7+ years of product management experience, ideally in platforms, developer tools, or collaboration ecosystems.
  • Experience with platform and ecosystem design (e.g., component libraries, SDKs, app templates, marketplaces, or APIs).
  • Strong product judgment and systems thinking—able to define primitives that scale across hundreds of use cases.
  • Ability to work deeply with engineering and design partners to turn abstract concepts into practical frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and narrative skills—able to connect the vision of reuse and sharing to business value.
  • Curiosity, humility, and a collaborative mindset to build across multiple teams and stakeholders
