About Charta Health

In an industry where the focus should rightly be on delivering quality care to patients, healthcare providers remain burdened by the complexities of non-clinical operations. Charta is changing that.

We're building the operating system for modern healthcare organizations. Our AI platform streamlines critical workflows across revenue cycle, clinical operations, and administrative functions, helping providers and payers operate more efficiently and deliver better patient care. Backed by Bain Capital Ventures, Charta is on a mission to make every healthcare dollar accountable and every chart accurate, reimagining healthcare infrastructure from the ground up.

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead the development of scalable, revenue-generating product offerings tailored to our core customer verticals. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of customer insights, go-to-market, and platform development. You’ll work closely with software engineers, forward deployed software engineers, sales, and customers to gather insights across complex, bespoke customer needs into repeatable, self-serve solutions that drive our growth engine.

You will lead product strategy across customer verticals — building the infrastructure, standards, and self-serve tooling needed to scale our offering efficiently and predictably. This role will serve as the connective tissue between bespoke customer builds and core platform capabilities, identifying opportunities to productize common patterns and deliver leverage across teams.

This is a high-trust, high-impact role on a team that thrives on ownership. You’ll be translating trends across customer clusters to unlock roadmap efficiency and reduce delivery time for future customers.

What you'll do:

  • Own the product roadmap for core business units
  • Own the lifecycle of key product initiatives from inception to launch
  • Gather feedback from strategic customers to inform product direction
  • Define business models, pricing packages, & other commercial standards
  • Help steer the growth of our product & engineering organization

What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years in product management, forward deployed engineering, or a hybrid customer-facing technical role
  • Proven ability to translate customer complexity into modular, scalable product solutions
  • Experience building products with GTM alignment (pricing, packaging, strategy)
  • Strong technical fluency, allowing for deep collaboration with engineers on system tradeoffs and building scalable infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to align stakeholders across functions
  • Bias for action and ownership; thrives in ambiguity and can drive clarity through structured thinking

You’d be a great fit, if you:

  • Turn ambiguity into clarity. You translate customer signals and workflows into clear product direction that balances user needs and technical constraints
  • See patterns in the noise. You cut through scattered customer feedback, regulatory shifts and and market signals to prioritize product features
  • Build cross-functional trust. You communicate clearly across teams and navigate technical and strategic discussions with confidence
  • Drive alignment with precision. You break down complex inputs into actionable product specs that keep engineering, deployment, and leadership on the same page
  • Want to build from zero to one. As our first PM, you’ll shape how we scale across verticals, streamline onboarding, and define the future of our product
  • Understand how things fit together. You’re fluent in technical tradeoffs, configuration design, and how infrastructure maps to user value

What we offer:
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, and more
  • Team dinners and snacks in the office to keep you at your best
  • Growth opportunities in a fast-paced, innovative tech startup
  • Ongoing professional development and access to cutting-edge AI and healthcare tools
  • Wellness & learning stipends so you can invest in both your health and personal growth
  • Lively in-person (required 5 days per week) work culture at our headquarters in downtown San Francisco or in our NYC office
  • $250,000 - $300,000 depending on experience + equity + benefits
  • Annual performance based bonus up to 30%

At Charta, we believe great products begin with great people, and nowhere is that more true than in this role. You’ll be trusted with our most valuable relationships, and given the autonomy and tools to succeed. If you’re excited about healthcare, software, and making complex systems work for people, we’d love to meet you!

Our Commitment to Diversity

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
