About Plasmidsaurus

Plasmidsaurus is on a mission to accelerate new cures and promote a healthier planet by unlocking a new level of productivity for scientists. Our sequencing services are used daily by thousands of innovators, including Nobel laureates, Fortune 100 pharma, and over 70,000 scientists.

We began by revolutionizing plasmid sequencing, making it exponentially cheaper and faster, with innovative sequencing technologies and a global network of laboratories that turn samples into answers in hours, not weeks.

Now we are expanding that same disruptive model across all of genomics. With the launch of our new RNA-seq service, we are taking a bold step toward our vision to sequence everything, providing scientists everywhere with faster, simpler, and more affordable access to the data that powers discovery.

Every team member at Plasmidsaurus plays a crucial role in driving the future of biotech research. Together, we are building the world’s most efficient sequencing engine that operates overnight, scales globally, and helps scientists make breakthroughs faster than ever before.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and scientifically grounded Product Marketing Manager for sequencing as a service portfolio. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will be the internal champion, market expert, and voice of the customer for our service offerings. This is an individual contributor role requiring a high degree of autonomy, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy & Execution

  • Launch Excellence: Own the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new and existing sequencing services (e.g., Whole Plasmid Sequencing, RNA-Seq, Whole Genome, AAV, Microbiome).

  • Targeting & Positioning: Identify target customer segments, develop compelling value propositions, and create clear, differentiated product positioning that resonates with research and clinical audiences.

  • Sales Enablement: Create essential sales tools, including pitch decks, battle cards, internal training materials, and competitive intelligence summaries, to empower the global sales and business development teams.

Content Development & Campaign Support

  • Scientific Storytelling: Translate complex technical features and performance data into clear, benefit-driven customer stories and marketing collateral, including application notes, white papers, case studies, website copy, and blog posts.

  • Demand Generation Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Demand Generation team to contribute content and strategic direction for campaigns that drive pipeline growth and customer adoption.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Market Expert: Serve as the company's expert on the sequencing as a service market landscape, including market trends, applications, and emerging methods.

  • Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze competitors' product portfolios, pricing, and messaging to identify market opportunities and inform Plasmidsaurus's competitive defense strategies.

  • Voice of the Customer (VoC): Conduct customer interviews, surveys, and focus groups to deeply understand customer needs, pain points, and purchasing criteria, feeding insights back to the Product and R&D teams.

Product and Portfolio Strategy

  • Input into Roadmap: Partner with the Product Management team to define future service offerings and prioritize features/improvements based on market demand, voice of customer, voice of field and market research.

  • Pricing & Packaging: Inform pricing, promotion and bundling strategies for services to optimize revenue and market share.

Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in a Life Science discipline (e.g., Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry) is required. An advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or product management within the sequencing, genomics, or life sciences industry. Experience with a sequencing-as-a-service (SaaS) or CRO business model is a significant plus.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, applications (e.g., RNA-Seq, WES/WGS), and common bioinformatics workflows.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling, clear marketing language. Strong presentation skills required to lead event speaking engagements including webinars and workshops.

  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to use market data and competitive analysis to develop actionable marketing plans.

  • Tools: Proficiency in marketing automation and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot).
