The Product Marketing Manager will create technical content, own messaging for product launches, and analyze the cloud security landscape to define market positioning.
The summary above was generated by AI

We’re looking for a Product Marketing Manager, part technologist, part storyteller, and deeply hands-on in turning complex cloud security concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with engineers and security leaders.

You’ll thrive on diving deep into architecture, runtime behavior, Kubernetes environments, identity flows, APIs, and kernel-level telemetry, then translating that depth into content that earns trust. You’ll help define how the market understands runtime-powered cloud security, not with fluff or fear tactics, but with precision, clarity, and technical credibility.

You’ll think like a security engineer and write like a product marketer, creating technical content, product narratives, launch assets, and enablement materials that explain not just what Upwind does, but how it works and why it’s architecturally different.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll bring technical strategy to life through content. You’ll report to the Head of Product Marketing and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Demand Gen, Sales, and leadership to turn complex innovation into market-ready messaging and assets that drive real pipeline impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and execute high-impact technical content. From deep-dive technical blogs and solution guides to architecture explainers and product landing pages, you’ll produce content that security engineers and cloud teams actually want to read.
  • Own the technical narrative for launches. Partner with Product and Engineering to shape messaging frameworks, define use cases, and build supporting assets for new features and releases.
  • Partner closely with Content Marketing to translate complex messaging into creative content formats and experiences across written, social, video, etc.
  • Translate complex architecture into clear value. Turn runtime telemetry, eBPF instrumentation, Kubernetes metadata, identity context, and API flow mapping into differentiated, defensible positioning.
  • Support demand with technical credibility. Collaborate with Demand Gen to provide strong technical angles for campaigns, content offers, and field programs that educate buyers over time, not just capture leads.
  • Develop competitive and market POVs. Analyze the CNAPP and cloud security landscape to create technically grounded differentiation and comparison assets that stand up to scrutiny.
  • Keep our technical voice sharp. Ensure our product storytelling is precise, modern, and human, authoritative when discussing architecture, and approachable when discussing customer value.
  • 3–6 years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, solutions engineering, product management, or a related role at an enterprise SaaS company, ideally in cloud security or cloud infrastructure.
  • Deep curiosity about how things work. You’re comfortable reading architecture docs, asking engineers hard questions, and understanding runtime systems at a technical level.
  • Strong technical writing skills. You can take complex infrastructure concepts and turn them into structured, compelling narratives without oversimplifying or hiding behind jargon.
  • Experience marketing to technical audiences. You’ve written for security engineers, DevOps teams, platform engineers, or CISOs and understand how to earn credibility with them.
  • Hands-on execution mindset. You don’t just define positioning, you write the blog, build the page outline, create the sales asset, and help get it live.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native environments. Kubernetes, containers, APIs, IAM, vulnerability management, runtime security, CNAPP, CSPM, CWPP, or related domains.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally. You can translate between Engineering, Sales, and Marketing without losing clarity or technical accuracy.
  • Fluency in modern marketing tools. Comfortable with CMS platforms, marketing automation tools like HubSpot, web tools like Webflow, analytics platforms, and enablement systems. Bonus for experience with demo tools, Storylane, or technical visualization tools.
  • Data-informed and impact-driven. You care about adoption, engagement, and pipeline influence, and you refine messaging based on real feedback from the field.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and speed. You’re energized by building in a fast-moving startup where features ship quickly and messaging evolves alongside the product.
  • Motivated by building and impact. You want to help define how runtime-powered cloud security is understood in the market, and you take pride in producing work that is technically excellent and materially drives growth.
