We’re not here to blend in — we’re here to change how observability works.

groundcover has built a radically different approach to cloud-native observability that competitors can’t match. As part of our marketing team, you won’t just promote a product - you’ll help reshape the narrative of the entire category so engineering and operations teams see Groundcover as the clear choice.

About us

We’re a fast-growing Series B startup delivering the most modern observability platform for cloud-native environments. Unlike traditional tools that are brittle, costly, and complex, our solution is lightweight, instantly deployable, and built for today’s AI-driven, developer-first world.

We’re not chasing the category leaders — we’re redefining the category. As our Product Marketing Manager, you’ll play a critical role in building and executing a go-to-market (GTM) strategy that challenges industry norms and outpaces legacy players like Datadog and Dynatrace.

This is a hybrid position with 4 days a week from office in San Francisco

What you’ll do

  • Create clear, differentiated narratives that resonate with both technical and business audiences.
  • Position groundcover as the modern alternative to legacy observability solutions.
  • Lead impactful product and feature launches.
  • Produce content - from blog posts to case studies - that engages developers, SREs, and DevOps teams.
  • Equip sales with compelling stories and materials that help close deals.
  • Track market trends, competitors, and customer needs to guide GTM strategy.
  • Partner closely with sales, product, and marketing to ensure alignment and execution.
  • 5+ years in product marketing, product management, or a related technical role.
  • Understanding of observability, DevOps, or cloud-native technologies.
  • Strong storytelling skills and the ability to make complex tech simple.
  • A strategic mindset with a bias for action.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to command a room, build empathy, and influence executives in fast-paced environments.
  • Curious, adaptable, collaborative and driven by a growth-oriented, positive approach.

Why join us

  • Define the GTM playbook for one of the most important layers of the cloud-native stack.
  • Join a high-growth, high-energy team where your work is visible and valued.
  • Competitive pay, equity, and full benefits.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
